Just wondering- you cali choirs- by hosting do you mean your families have choirs from out of town stay with your families?

when everyone says hosting they do mean what the earlier person explained to you, but I thought I would add that sometimes it does mean familes. Burroughs "hosted" Chula earlier this year in the sense that our familes had Chula kids spend the night with us after Burbank Blast.

Also, thank you to all the Los Al students and parents, the competition was a lot of fun and I can't believe how fast it ran! I am disappointed I didn't get to try one of those salads, I was too busy doing props and then changing and performing and running around, and they were all gone by the time I was done. But thank you again. Congratulations to all.

Alright In Sync and Sound Dogs!!! Great job and a congrats to In Sync for a championship in a BRUTALLY tough line-up! New York is only a few short weeks away, and I can't wait to rehearse with and see you guys and Impressions again. (Sorry Eli, but I don't think my Ninja outfit, bow and arrow, dart shooter, cowboy hat, sherrif's badge or gumball machine will be making the trip in my carry-on! They're still MUCH appreciated, though!!!)I can't wait to see what this season will bring for all the Burbank groups, but I'm incredibly proud of the start you've had!

Also to Carlsbad, tied for 4th runner-up with Arcadia!!! (I know they broke the tie on musicianship, but that's the rules so be cool with it!) What an amazing job of bringing your show to a higher level and starting to percolate! I told you when I was out there last week that you could raise your level and have a very strong year, and this proves your on track to make it happen. After a bumpy start, I'm SO SO proud of your belief in yourselves to get better. God Bless, Damon Brown

Loa Al is usually one of my favorites...no change there this year.

I loved that women's and men's were in the same session thingy.

That was cool. :]

Also in response to the host question, usually the choir will perform to be adjudicated and also to give time to calculate scores.

Burroughs usually has some type of entertainment...be it Pop Show acts or our own choirs, or something else new this year. :]

i dont know all but i know that

Burrohs high school won the advanced womens divsion
Burbank High School won the Advanced men
Burbank High School won the Advanced mixed

I can confirm Sound sensations and Sound dogs won, but how can In Sync have won if the division started an hour ago?
The awards shouldn't be up for another couple of hours.

Hey Los Al. Um, do you know if anyone found an Aztec Singer shirt last night? Black with a coat of arms on the back that says AS 0708? I can't seem to find mine and I think I may have left it where the chairs are. x_XX I really need my shirt and I can't find it anywhere.

Thank you for explaining that! And yes, that was us- thank you for that too. You guys were great too! You all are in the southwest- we're talking about maybe having a Southwest Invitational- so some of us in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Texas and maybe Oklahoma might have at least one more competition that doesnn't involve so much travel. What do you all in Utah think about that. Maybe it could be a traveling one- in New Mexico one year, Utah the next, Colorado.... It's just that the west coast and midwest have so many opportunities to compete. What 'cha think? I put another post on this in the parent area. Thanks again- and good luck in Branson!!!!

that would be Amazing!!!!
its so true that we dont get to compete as much, last year SF only went to branson...

anyway, we'll see what happens w/ choir at SF next year... " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />

the choir hosting the competition usually picks two of their members to stick with a competing choir from the moment they arrive, until they leave after the awards. they're basically their guides, and will tell them when its time to go warm up, where to go, where to sit, and other stuff...
They also make "goody bags" (candy, memorabillia, etc.) for the choir they're hosting.
PS: you guys were amazing at Fame LA!!! ;)
(was it you? w/ the five panels? Topsy turvy?)
