I hope Wheaton has had a safe trip down! I can't wait to see how this turns out!

My predictions are as follows

GC: WWS (Sweep)
1ru: Homewood/Oak Mountain
2ru: HomeWood/Oak Mountain
3ru: Petal
4ru: Beech
5tu: Donelson

Wheaton Warrenville I expect will take this one, each they astound me, seems this could be an off year for them and I am not fond of there show like I have been in the past, but from what I have heard of Homewood this year I see them battling with OM for 2nd. OM has the strongest show of a southern group next to Auburn this year as of what I have seen, and I saw very little of OM's show at the ACDA. Excited to see Homewood, and see Petal. But I don't think Petal is quite at the level they need to be to compete with the top 3 groups. But they may turn out like Opelika and come on strong. Although the competition is quite as stacked as I had hopes for after last year, I expect it to be a battle none the less. But WWS is a top 5 group nationally every year, so I expect a great show from them, they are a bunch of friendly people to! Loved there competition in 2010! Can't wait to see all groups come the 8th!

Well since this is this upcoming weekend, I've added the schedule as it appears up above. Similar to my post in the Opelika topic, disappointing not to see more of a stacked competition with Wheaton Warrenville South making the trip down. Not a knock on Southern groups not being good, rather less organized in my opinion. Having multiple competitions the same day just splits the choirs whereas in the Midwest it seems schools are better able to coordinate (ex. Wheaton's Choral Classic, Fairfield's Crystal Classic).

Regardless, should still be a fun day. I hope the Southerner's enjoy Wheaton's unique show!

Predictions:

GC- WWS (Best Band, Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design [if awarded])
1RU- Homewood
2RU- Petal
3RU- Oak Mountain

Homewood's 1RU finish at south jones really surprised me. It's hard to tell if the second place means Homewood isn;t as good as years past or if JPrep is better... Should be a solid competition, can't wait to watch it online!

It was just that everyone is so much better. It was actually unbelievable because each group is 2 to 3 times better than last year across the board. Homewood is as good as always just every one is trying to get on their level.

I guess I'll predict too.

GC- Wheaton (BV, BC, BB if able to get it)
1RU- Homewood
2RU- Petal (I could see them jumping Homewood)
3RU- Oak Mountain (best costumes)
4RU- Donelson
5RU- Beech/Homewood women

I watched Wheaton on youtube and I think they'll take this one. I'm sure their vocals are represented better live than in video, but I can't wait to see them on the live feed! I haven't seen or heard anything about Homewood or Petal other than what has been posted on here. I saw Oak Mountain at the ACDA show choir festival and they were great! I was glad to see their director do so well in his first year. Donelson and Beech have a history of being finalist here. Can't wait!

Here is my best guess at this show down...

GC - Wheaton (BV Best Overall Effect)
1RU - Petal (BC)
2RU - Homewood
3RU - Another large mixed
4RU - Donelson Christian

Petal has REALLY stepped it up this year... like I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after they finished at South.

I had to dig to try to find some groups coming to this one. So far I've found Wheaton, Homewood, and Petal. Auburn won't be attending considering they're going to Mississippi Show Choir Contest next weekend.

Fairly certain they're also going to our competition(Madison Central's). Then again, I haven't heard anything about who was coming to ours since around September and they were also supposed to be going to JA and pulled out or something(or they were never going in the first place and it was just a rumor). So..yeah. Maybe ours..?

Im fairly certain they aren't coming to JA, but I am hosting Y'all!
