I believe Pete Ecklund is judging at Edgewood. That is at least what I heard to explain him not being at Men's Chorus today.

I just texted him- apparently he's at Indiana University this weekend. I thought maybe he was judging too but I guess not.

has zionsville competed anywhere yet?

Only the Choralaires have. Last weekend we were Grand Champions in the Ladies Division at Belmont University! Edgewood will be the first competition for the Royalaires.

Edgewood's gym actually has no natural light that comes into the gym. A lot of gym's, like Sullivan's for example, have a "field house" style where they have windows that go around the outside. Edgewood's is completely dark if you turn off all of the lights during the day. It does have a really good atmosphere for show choir during the day, just like Mooresville's gym does.

But I understand the concern.

Cool. Sounds like it will be a fun day. Too bad I can't come out and watch, but oh well. Good luck all!

I was never been a huge fan of performing in a gym... especially if lighting couldn't be controlled. How much natural light comes into the gym during the daytime performance at Edgewood?

Anywho... I wanted to wish everyone luck this weekend. This looks like a great competition. Special shout-out to Opelika. Represent the Southern SCs. This is the first time (besides National and FAME competitions) that I remember Ovations competing out of the South... so, good luck!

I'd try to give a prediction for this comp, but I haven't seen enough of the show choir's that are competing. 7 finalists too... whew... that's alot. Anywho... you guys keep me updated when Saturday rolls around.

Has anyone seen Zionsville or Lawrence North this year? Do they have good shows?

In my personal opinion I would say this one is going to be between Mt. Zion Troy and Sullivan for 1 2 3...and I can see it going a number of different ways.

I wouldn't count out Norwell either.

You're a smart man. I may be an alum, but I think they're awesome.
And a 1RU finish at Center Grove isn't too shabby, eh?

Finalists Predictions:

Zionsville
Opelika
Mt. Zion
Sullivan
Lawrence North
Loveland
Troy

Night show predictions:

GC: Mt. Zion "Swingsations"
1RU: Sullivan "Singers"
2RU: Troy "Express"
3RU: Zionsville "Royalaires"
4RU: Opelika "Ovations"
5RU: Lawrence North "New Dimension"
6RU: Loveland "By Request"

Vocals: Sullivan
Choreo: Mt. Zion

I look for Zionsville to have another up year. It's been 2 years of building for them and i really hope they pull something like their 2006 show together again. That one won them Huntington North's contest by a mile and that was i'd think as tough if not tougher than this competition.

Shot in the dark, Here goes
GC: Mt. Zion
1RU: Zionsville
2RU: Sullivan
3RU: Troy
4RU: Norwell
5RU: Opelika
6RU:Lawrence North

I think Mt. Zion's finals placement is going to be largely dependent on their daytime show. Then again, I don't know how clean their show has gotten since Johnston...
