oh great....we have a loser....i mean a drew sighting....boo!....lol/!....all 3 dale shows but especially KS show is amazing this year...too bad they're not going to anymore comps this year " border="0" alt="crying.gif" /> .....oh well....but i thought manchester was kind of boring through the first two songs...then the ballad came which was amazing and then they became the show choir i've come to know and love....but yeah....the whole final comp could be and def could have been interesting...last year and this year as well....but w/ the number of choirs around here....it would take a long time...especially with the number of girls groups....something intersting to look into but i doubt mrs kish would ever seriously co through w/ it....and thank god you're done w/ show choir...just cant wait till richard says the same thing....lmao!.....

Okay So I havent been on this site in ages. PS I HATED MANCHESTER this year. I think they are attempting to be Midwest WAY TO MUCH !!! I mean making a change for the good but if you are gonna change your competition style BRING IN NEW JUDGES. Start getting judges from the Midwest and stop bringing back the same people who have seen the same groups over the past twenty years. I was very impressed with TD this year i think Mrs Stanfield is gonna turn that into an amazing program. So goes for Hanover and Mr Barrack. Manchester had a good sound and as most of them stated the show played their strong point VOCALS. I was very dissapointed when it came to choreography but I mean the vocals were there. I just thought the competition was weird and not in the good sense. Not many choirs in this area go to 5 or more competitions like midwest choirs do thats why they dont have ratings. Also I think if they are gonna do midwest stuff have a finals competition. Anyways I was surprised to see some of the schools and what they got but whatever I am done with chor just thought I give my input. hahaha Have a great season everyone !!! PS does anyone have a tape or know what teh following choirs are doing this year : Crete, Sullivan, Attache, Mt Zion, Edgewood, EEE, Grand Centeral, Petal, and all those other amazing midwest choirs ....

awwwww Blakeee.....u know I did originally but I had too many words and I had to delete half the stuff I had on it....u know I luv u man....from da fightin, to cartwheelin, to winnin, to 2nd places and to Brinn.....we've been thur alot my friend....and I luv u mah brudda....just wish u wouldn't have been a year ahead and b a senior dis year, which wouldve meant dat I'd have stayed @ Dale and we could've helped dis year (even though dey didnt' need it....we need them)

But to be honest....after Powhatan James River pissed me off so bad dat I was gonna transfer to Dale dat Monday and learn both shows to compete @ Manchester and kick CE and PM's booty....but then somebody talked sense into me and said that all it would've done was make things worse....but it would've have cuz JRHS is still bitter anyway and dey just would've been even more cuz JR pulled dat off....damn dat would've been beautiful but....oh well

yeah....what JR said....i wasn't dissin them....i just didn't really like it personally but they did have good vocals..i was just amazed that CH got 2nd when i thought that Dale was a whole lot better....but that's the nature of the perverbial show choir beast known as the judges...lol/!....they did awesome this year and once agian got a superior at every comp....so that's 6 straight and 7 in the last 10 ('03-'05)....all thanks to Stanny! we love you stanny.......and JR....thanks for not sayin ne thing about me in your signature....like i didn't help you last year...lmao!....j/k....no biggie.....

well I'm not a Virginian so.....I'm absolutely in luv with the idea of Red Hot's show....at least Blake didn't take away from how good dey were....her gave them props but just said he personally didn't like their style....nuttin wrong wit dat....I was just pissed dat dese James River whores had da nerve to talk junk about how dey didn't think da TD choirs were good and dat dey were better than everybody at Manchester and dat Red hot was nuttin but a bunch of cheerleaders who couldn't sing and how stupid it was to tap to Madonna (I personally thought dat was hot but...who am I?)
at this point it really doesn't matter I'm just happy dat everybody had a good time and Red Hot, Clover Hill, and Knightscene, UKnighted and Knightingales.....congratulations.....u deserved it and I dun care wat no one says...dey just mad cuz dey didn't win

ya'll you may not like there tumbling but when it comes down to it you know they should have won. They are amazing. Just because they do different moves doesn't mean that they are bad. Their vocals are Awesome, and they excute the choreo perfectly. THey are so nice too. We have to remember, that sometimes being different isn't always being bad. I know it is hard to take the pain of not getting grand Champion i myself and my group might get beat by huricane but in the end you realize the best won.And thats all you can want, hard work to get what you want , congrat To Hurricane y'all Amaze me every time i see you, and Td i love you guys so much y'all were the ****te at martinsburg y'all wrere the nicest group congrats.

yeah i was just kinda pissed and i really don't know why....since i'm not in show choir anymore...lol/!....it's just that we don't really see stuff like that around here and it's def not the norm so ppl around here don't go for stuff like that....i wasn't tryin to be mean in any way....i just didn't like it.....so it's no big deal....i'm only a show choir god around here...lol/!....j/k....but i did like tradition....i got home and watched the whole movie that night...lol/!....no i didn't see them @ Capital....but w/e....it's over....they can have there crazy show choir....i'll take my Virginia show choirs anyday....well....maybe only a few of em...lol/!....but i meant no offense....sorry....lol/!

I'm sure he didn't mean any offense by it...it's just that virginia groups don't usually go for the "wow" factor in their shows...it seems almost like a cover-up for a lack in talent elsewhere...like they did a bunch of flips and won for it. (not necessarily a personal opinion, it just seems like what he was trying to say...but maybe not.)

I don't understand the "hiring people to be in there" statement by Joedaddy. Are you implying that Hurricane looks like they hired professionals to be in their show choir, because if so, thanks for the compliment. Also...didn't you see Hurricane at Capital? Or maybe I'm just missing something. If you didn't like the acrobatics in this show, you would've hated our 2000 Broadway show, it was odd if there WASN'T someone in the air during that show. Kim Edwards allows people in her show choir who have singing and dancing talent, after the show choir is set, each member's individuality is discovered. If you can do a standing back-tuck...or some quick ballet, she'll put in the show. We had a guy breakdance in our Broadway show....and someone did the worm during Love Potion Number 9...Believe me, as a four-year member of Red Hot, and now two years removed, Kim Edwards knows exactly what crowds and judges are looking for...

But congrats to everyone on phenomenal shows, I've heard nothing but the best from all who attended.

The only complaint I have about Hurricane's show is the blocking...there were blockings that I didn't get. They would have files, with like 2 all girl files, and 3 all boy files, or whatever, and then there would be a random girl in the middle of a boy file. Sometimes it was for a basket toss or whatever, but sometimes nothing happened, the girl was just there and then the blocking changed. Bizarre...

Ah, Joedaddy is providing yet another example of the grasp people try to take whenever they fall victim to Hurricane. Yes, I have heard banter like this before firsthand!

How is a show judged? Well, we all know that, especially Joedaddy. Hurricane nails every aspect of the score sheet. Other choirs might not like it because they throw in some different moves that aren't usually seen in show choir, but notice that whenever one of those moves goes off, the crowd goes crazy. How much do you want to bet that not just the crowd, but they judges like it too?

When it all boils down, the 'steroid show' ended up coming to your state and handing it to you this weekend.

:-D

um.....ok......first off....i have been at show choir for 24 of the last 32 hours...and tired as crap....it was an amazing two days.....starting w/ my knightingales...they were so incredible on friday night....perfection...and about Bird's girls placing...um....that would not happen...there vocals were no where near where they have been and overall there show was "ok"...but they are doing well considering everything that's happened...and about what someone said earlier on this topic...did u mean you were sorry for our mixed or our girls...???....then on saturday my dawgs in U-Knighted brought it in the boys division....and then that leaves one group....Knightscene....um....that was the single best performance i've seen yall give this year...yall stopped complaining and did your thing and deserved way more than yall got....Um....I'd like to holl@ at Dude Berkley and his mixed group from Matoaca who got 1st in Class B.....congrats....um....no offense to CH and my boy who sings the solo in the 2nd song....but Dale outdid CH like whoa and def deserved 2nd.....as for hurricane....i did not see what everyone was so excited about...the only reason why ppl were so excited about them is b/c they have like back-handsprings, i think i caught a basket toss in there, and a few standing back tucks? WTF??.....it was like show choir on steroids....totally not cool....the only song that i remotely liked was Tradition b/c that's my musical....but it looked like yall hired ppl to be in there or something....kinda ridiculous....but w/e....i guess there is nothing i can do about it....2 out of 3 aint bad....
Knightingales-GC,Best Vocals, Best Band, Best Show Design, and Best Soloist
U-Knighted-1st Place in the Boys show choir Division
Knightscene-3rd Place(should have been 2nd), Best Band!
Stanny you're awesome and the only reason for the success we have had, are having, and will have for years to come! I love you stanny!!!

Emily, I would personally like to hear your opinions on the way the Manchester competition worked out.

On a sidenote (actually this is my MAIN point, that other comment was the sidenote) WE CAME IN SECOND BEHIND THOMAS DALE!!! OMG!! I have never been so entirely suprised in my ENTIRE life! Angel and I were standing up in the front of the gym and we got best choreo and we were like hmm...ok....could we place? And then they announced third and it wasn't us, so I got a little uncomfortable because I didn't see James RIver's show and I thought they would take something home. But second was us!! It was the first thing Barrack had ever won at Manchester! Then LAST night, we didn't even care about the awards, because when we were watching our video, Mr. Barrack started crying! We finally made him proud of us...and that was an awesome feeling...as he put it, that's the best specialty award out there. Oh, and Matt Millner got a standing ovation in the middle of our closer, how hot!
