A far as Colerain is concerned: They're having a (cliche) off year. They haven't done well. Last year their show was awesome, and I haven't seen them this year yet. Seems to me I've heard this story this year too ::coughBrushcough::

Colerain is definitely going to the Hampton Roads and nothing to deal with Busch gardens...
I would be uber jealous if they went there haha

and yes Colerain has had some downsets at Poca and St. Clairsville, but they also placed well at Findlay, South Dearborn, and Grove City. and they won at Loveland.
these competitions are all in the MidWest section if you want to see other results and stuff, im lazy and dont feel like typing much =]

and show choir is subjective so it could turn out anyway and Colerain hasnt seen any of these East Coast groups before so it should be interesting!

I have heard good things about Cosby, Thomas Dale, Atlee and others so it should be pretty intense!

good luck to all! i know Colerain is leaving thursday afternoon to make the trip so its sooner than we think!

don't be scared. lol. that's no way to live your show choir life. hahaha. j/k.

I'm not scared...I'm realistic We just can't make the same big sound a large show choir can. I think I like my small show choir this way. There are advantages. " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Hanover is bringing its standstill choirs (Satin Dolls, Voice Male, and Chamber Singers) on Friday, but not its show choirs.

Two competitions is enough for us... it's always so much work lugging that cumbersome heart set around.

Is any other school bringing its standstill choirs? Does Cosby have any standstill choirs?

I'm sorry, I thought you were saying you went to Meadowbrook. Our choreographer also choreographed for them my first year at Menchville, which was two years ago. But I super love what you've done with Hanover...I never got to see Meadowbrook before their new leadership.

And abot divisions at Hampton, I thought there was going to be divisions this year. I know there have not been previously, but I know for awhile, I actually considered going...so I think there are divisions. I'm done putting my kids up against the large show choirs. I mean...let's be real.

And about the choreographer thing, You didn't share a choreographer with my group cause it was done by myself and Kristin Mancini. You might have the year after i left, but that group in no way relates to myself or the caliber of groups that Jamie Barrack had built (Chamber Singers & Showin' Off). BUT NEWAYZ I hear they have a new show choir now lol "Ladys of Distinction" Sounds pretty ghetto to me... just like the teacher. RIP Showin Off & Visions lol

fyi, (not to sound neg. at all) Colerain isn't a high caliber show choir. They will fit right in and hopefully do well, i haven't seen them in 2 years though.

And tell your mom thanks!, I sang @ 3 places on Xmas eve when i was in richmond, but she probably heard me at Beulah? however u spell it... I didnt sing at Bon Air, but that wouldve been fun too lol 4 in a day, i wouldve killed myself as we're celebratin jesus's birth.

Alright then, enough of my tyrant, Break a leg at Hampton Roads kids and those not going come to FAME NYC w/ me!

Haha if Colerain went to Hampton Roads that would be ummm.....a little different experience as well as caliber of show choir for them to see. Ryan is probably right yall are singing at Busch Gardens.

Ryan my mom said she heard you sing at a church in Bon Air or something and said you sounded great and are doing quite well. Congrats and keep up the good work.

Thomas Dale was the grand champion of mixed and Hanover was grand champion of Single-Gender last year at Hampton and neither groups are going so Clover Hill and Atlee will probably dominate as well as Cosby who i heard is incredible.

We use to have another competition in VA (Meadowbrook) so no one would have to go to the Hampton Roads comp (unless they wanted an easy win and If you were around then... you know who the only choir there was one year...), but I graduated and my parents took the competition with them. hyuck.

Good luck to everyone who is going, sing loud... hopefully the microphones will be working correctly... cuz the didnt use to...

Our solo mics were off at some point in our show during Powhatan and Hanover. Manchester was the only one that got it right this year. But, it happens...it's part of show business. I'd be willing to bet that mic was not broken when they set it up and Kecoughtan...and as I remember, they told us not to use the mic on the end because it was malfunctioning. I'm sure everyone was given the same consideration.

Meadowbrook...we shared a choreographer for awhile, didn't we?

Are u sure this is the same competition in Hampton? There is also a competition where u perform @ like Princess Anne High and then spend a day at Busch Gardens.. (Festi-Val) just checking cause i don't see why colerain would travel to come to this one... It's held in a very old facility and generally has non-show choir judges.

haha. i wonder who that was...manchester. lol

there were 9 show choirs there that year. Meadowbrook was fun, i must say.

I actually am from there haha.

Colerain has done quite well.
competitions you may know would be... Findlay, Poca, and grove City

they were 2nd runner up at Findlay and Grove City
At Poca however, they did not make it into finals, but it was a terrific show and they were very close!

I don't think Colerain has met any of these people before so I agree with you it will be very interesting how things will play out! I'm excited to hear about it

Okay awesome!

Yeah... choir kids can be annoying. That's a good idea to pass out lists etc.

Thanks for your help though!!! Much appreciated =]

Everyone cn be annoying, at some point or another. Just for the record, I love my students...even when they get on my nerves.

I'm glad to help whenever I can. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. The only choir I remember for absolute certain was LC Bird.
