I know that what I say comes off as rude and arrogant, but I just get mad when GREAT choirs lose to choirs that are mainly working off of a name rather than real vocal quality.

Well I don't think the name John Burroughs or North Central is ever going to hurt you, they are probably two of the best known names in the country.

It's Just my opinion people. I know that what I say comes off as rude and arrogant, but I just get mad when GREAT choirs lose to choirs that are mainly working off of a name rather than real vocal quality.

True. Clinton IS a great choir. I mean you can't beat "Drove All Night" in 2003. Even my beloved Counterpoints in 06 could not have beaten them. There I said it. Happy?!

As I said earlier in this forum, this competition is impossible to predict. It's just my opinion that Clinton is not at it's best this year. I could never be certain that NC will win or Clinton or JB. Noone could.

Sorry if my messages have come off bitchy or whatever. I was just stating my honest opinion. Not everyone agrees with me, and that's alright.

Sorry to those who I have offended. No-one in current Counterpoints agrees with me. Its just me. Only me.

Best of Luck to everyone. honestly

I have seen clinton's show this year. Although this is my first year and i've never seen clinton before I wasn't impressed. My entire group was flocking to watch clinton. Everyone was whispering oh watch this, look at this, pay attention to this. When the show ended the most impressive thing was their confident attitude(which they probably deserve) and backdrops(which were amazing.) Clinton has already been beaten twice this year(if you count pre-lims at Petal's competition)

Clinton really has a good possibility at winning, they are very good. I am just stating Clinton didn't blow me away as everyone said they would. I didn't even think they were the best at the competition we attended.(Birmingham)

So this competition is up for grabs. I saw North Central perform at their competition and was blown away by their group and their girls group.

I have no idea who will win but it will be an entertaining competition.

I forget which school it is that's competing against us, but I know that they exist. :] There are only two of us, I believe, in the division.

Good point, though.

As usual, people seem to have forgotten about the second division.

The Single-Gender division is at the end of the competition. I believe that there are only two girl's groups competing. John Burroughs Sound Sensations are one of them (sorry to the choir I'm forgetting).

The top 6 scorers, regardless of division, move on to the finals.

We're very excited to see how we do in comparison to mixed choirs. This is the first time I've done it.

See you there...

I'm LOLing a bit at the fact that you complain that people "have forgotten" about the second division, then like three sentences later, you admit that you forgot like half the division you're talking about.

PAID????? Oh CRAP, I knew they were taking advantage of me! They said I got a 10% discount on my hotel, some new Hot Wheels cars and a year's subscription to "Happy Gardener Quarterly", but NOTHING about PAID!!! This makes me rethink my entire philosophy of judging competitions.

Sounds to me like you made out pretty well Never knew judging was that prestigious!

Sounds like quite an expensive endeavor! You mentioned all the additional expenses...just out of curiosity, what do they pay judges for a Fame competition like this? Anyone who has to judge a loaded competition like Fame Chicago should be compensated well!!
