What school did "Hair" here last year? Just out of curiousity.

I'd also like to apologize for some members making horrible comments about other groups and being disrespectful - it only reflects a few people's poor choices, and not the collective opinion of our entire group. We all just need to chill out, be friends, and appreciate what each group brings to the table. Every group works so freaking hard on their shows, and put so much effort into making it the best it can be. Why does everyone have to hate on specific shows and what not? Anyways, I feel like Sauk is famous for unpredictability of the groups and finals/Captions/Awards. I would have to agree with Mayville possibly having an edge because of the show aspect, which I'm all for - the musical theatre groups don't get enough credit for what they accomplish. No matter what happens this weekend, good luck to all the choirs competing, and I can't wait to see you guys' shows this weekend!

Kim, Thank you for appreciating Musical Theatre groups, we work just as hard as everyone else! This will be a great competition and on behalf of the Mayville Cardinal Singers, we wish everyone good luck tomorrow!

i wish everyone could win but that wont happen.
I think that's a really important fact that people often lose sight of. Even if you have the best 6 groups in the country at one event, someone's going home with 6th.

I think you're always better off stating things on the website as opinion and backing them up with reason and people will respond to you much more positively. Instead of saying "Group X definitely won't win this," say "I personally don't think group X has a good shot of winning at this competition because they've never beaten group Y once and have a history of not making finals here.". (Or whatever the situation is... but you get my point.) I'm sure you never meant to hurt anyone's feelings and I think people will respect your apology. Just remember to take a moment to proofread what you write before you hit send and you'll probably much better off.

I think Milton is just as much in the mix to win GC.

Stolby (and the recipients of the massive drama I have accidentally created..),

I'm sincerely sorry for writing what I did. I absolutely didn't mean any thing that suggested that Milton (or any other group for that matter) didn't have a chance for competition. I was just saying that because of how close of schools we are, its going to be fun to compete against GCS. Sort of an inter-city rivalry. As far as I'm concerned: anyone has a shot for finals, and Grand Champ for that matter. I understand that my post was misleading and rude, but please don't take it to heart as I didn't mean anything negative to any choir.

Best of Luck to all Groups!

-and once again: Sorry!

Lastly, we should not bring up the point that "such group did not make finals at such competition so they have no chance of winning"... Adam Peters, you of ALL people should know that a group can not make finals at one competition and the next week come VERY close to winning a different competition. You just saw it happen last week at your own competition. And if not making finals somewhere automatically eliminates you from not being able to win a GC (which it absolutely does not) then your students must be feeling really bad right now. Go back to your corner.

Yes Jay... I do know, but that was not the point I was making. All I was trying to do was make a factual point- which I did. Your entire rant is putting words into my mouth. Nice try though.

Also, do not bring my students into this discussion. I'm not really sure why you are going off on me right now, but don't bring them into it.

where you absolutely deserved to be in finals. By a mile.

Oh, well thank you! I just want to apologize for what some people have been saying on this forum... that definitely does not reflect how our choir is at all. We all know we have a lot of work to do this week and it is definitely not down to Central and Onalaska.

Regardless of who places where and who gets what captions, I'm super excited for this competition. This is normally my favorite competition of the year, and I can't wait to see the other shows. Good Luck to everyone!

Idk why it's not editing the results, but I meant to say I love Milton's show this year, but going off head-to-head results, Onalaska has shown that they can beat Milton this year (captions were split, obviously it was really close). Everyone needs to come over to my house and have a hot chocolate date and chill out.

Wow. Everyone needs to hold hands and sing kumbaya. La Crosse Central has established itself as a GREAT group this year. Honestly, their show is more than fantastic and they will most likely sweep this competition and not have anyone close to them.

Onalaska and Milton, and everyone else at this competition, have all proven themselves to be very competitive, well-executed shows. I personally love Milton's show this year and I haven't seen Onalaska, but going off results I'd probably have to give it to Milton. But that was one weekend and not this weekend. We will see come Saturday.

Ona has not done well at sauk in a long time and Milton beat us last year, and beating central in my opinion was a fluke. And plus Central has an amazing show this year, and you never know at sauk, with shows like Onalaska/Milton/Central... Mayville would have a better shot, because they match the scoring better.

And dalton you are representing Onalaska in a bad way, and I am disappointed with a lot of you saying you can beat __________ (insert choir here), it puts a bad name for you and makes you all look stupid. I didn't feel bad when you didn't make finals at Mt. Zion because all of you came into that competition thinking you would be in the top, and it was a slap in the face when you didn't. The show wasn't even close to what it could have been, it looked like you all half assed it up on stage, sorry but its the truth. I have seen you perform a lot better than that. A lot of you felt horrible, and don't come into sauk thinking you will win. Big heads don't produce good shows. I like all of you, but you need to get all of your heads on straight, don't be trash talking, and putting down other choirs. It is pretty tacky.

Def wont happen lacrosse or ona will win

I pray to God Milton wins just to put you in your place. NOTHING is "def". Last time I checked, your group didn't even make finals at Mt. Zion. Don't count your chickens before they've hatched.

I think a lot of those groups could win! So you definitely shouldn't say that... You never know what could happen until after you perform, as we learned at Mt. Zion. ;)
