Hey, can we get some results posted for Sauk? I'm really wish that more competitions would be posted along with their results.

we thank you for bearing with us. I know myself and a lot of the staff haven't be able to sort thru a lot of the competitions going on due to a lot of us being in college and staying busy. Thanks for bring this to our attention and I will get them changed right now as I am actually on a computer and not my phone!

And with competitions and results the best way to help make this smooth is full, accurate results and when a schedule is put up to have a full break down of Womens/Prep/Tiers/Open class!

Yeah, but at the other two it was Vocals - Milton, Choreo - Milton, 1RU - Milton...

Slightly different.

Yes that is different. But my example had to do with this competition and the question asked, I wasn't referring to Milton's specific results.

I'm prophetic.

Upon viewing the results last night and seeing Mayville had won, I pondered to myself, "Self... I wonder if Mayville got out their WAR show from 2003 for this season."

Mayville's 2003 Anti-War show was the very FIRST live show choir I had ever seen in my life that was not a Davenport school (my home city). It literally took my breathe away and started the fire that I have for show choir today. That show is in my top five favorite shows of all time.

Thanks so much! That really means a lot!

I know exactly how you feel with that, lol. When i found out what show that my high school was doing this year, i was extremely jealous because i graduated last year, and this show is by far the most exciting and inspirational shows that i have ever seen. I have never seen Mayville perform so good in my life! Last night they just came out with a power and intensity that i have only seen come out of this show. I think part of it may have been due to the fact that they dedicated their finals performance to a soldier from Mayville who ended up losing his life this past Wednesday while serving over in Afghanistan. I really believe that that was lit the fire in them to perform with some of the most pure passion that i have ever seen out of a show choir.

Mayville's show this year was their anti-war set which consists of music from the 60's and 70's during the time of the Vietnam War.

Is it the same one from 2003? If so, I love that show!

If you are talking about Mayville's show from 2003, then yes, that is the same show. They added a few things to it this year to make it different from the show in 2003, but yes, it is essentially the same show with most of the same songs.

And to Monona Grove, i love your show this year! You guys had an amazing opener that was just filled with pure intensity and you never lost it throughout the performance. Besides Mayville, you were hands down the group i enjoyed watching the most! Keep up the great work!!!

At Sauk, though, I don't think that's how it works. The judges ranked us 1-6, and we were given a number of points based on how each judge ranked us. I think the judges deliberate who gets best choreo and best vocals, but I'm not sure how that exactly works. I don't know. The final results still don't make sense to me. Hopefully I can get some further clarification from our director.

Anyways, I'm still very happy with best choreo and 2nd runner up, and congrats to Mayville.

I believe they score every show and then at the end assign rankings to each group...Mayville didn't have the highest vocal or choreography score but the judges gave them the most first place rankings.
