I haven't seen Findlay or Fairfield, but Johnston has gotten best band 3 other times this year, so it doesn't surprise me as much.

Well, Findlay's more of an Orchestra I'd say, and Fairfield... well, they have quite possibly the most versatile Brass and Rhythm sections that I've ever heard a High school band be. Listen to Black Magic Woman by Santana, and then listen to Fairfield's version of it. The guitar is Spot On!

However, on the other side of the coin, I've never heard Johnston's Band this year either so, I truly cannot judge. So, congrats to Johnston for beating 2 of the best Bands in Ohio.

That's what I meant by "depends on the show and the judges."

Wait you mean to tell me the winner would depend on the show and the judges?? that's some major breaking news Haakon! lol

What a great day except it started to early for me lol. I didn't get to see Urbandale so Im really looking forward to seeing their show as Ive heard about them for a while but never got a chance to see them live.

I thought Fairfield was awesome! I had seen the show on youtube and as always with youtube I was way more impressed with the show live.

Los Al just put on a Great solid show from start to finish and I think they deserved to be on top after prelims. like many of the groups I think Los Al can push it up even another notch and I cant wait to see that tomorrow!

Burbank was good as always and blew me away with the vocals as always. Definetly not the Best I have seen you guys though. Like someone else said dont be surprised if Burbank looks like a new choir tomorrow and pulls away from the rest of the field.

I think despite the points being so close I'd have to say Burbank is a really heavy favorite to win. That being said i'd love to see Los Al win this. They Have been really good for a while but I think they dont always get the credit they deserve and kinda get lost in the Burbank/Burroughs shawdow. This would be a huge win for them and i'd like to see them pull it off.

Oh and Jorge, It sounds like you loved Burbanks show. It may sound hard to believe but you should definetly fly out for So-Cal so you can see that show even better.

Also, I'm slightly floored at the fact that neither Findlay NOR Fairfield received the Best Band caption... however, a big congrats to Johnston and all of the other finalists!

agrees it also depends on the show designs themselves and where the competitions are held like if all three happened to go to indiana or ohio an compete with the top groups around midwest it could be any way but this will be an EPIC finals omg so excited

I personally think those are the top three groups in the country and each are capable of beating the other depending on the year, the judges, and the show.

Clinton and Burroughs are the only choirs I can think of beating Burbank in the past couple years.

go california!

based on past years, burbank pulls out everything for finals. If you saw them today, I guarantee it will be like watching a different choir in finals, they are that good. But that's only based off past years. Los Al has come a long way, so congrats to them. It would be crazy if Los Al won, since Clinton and Burroughs are the only choirs I can think of beating Burbank in the past couple years.

Los Alamitos is in first.
Burbank is .5 points behind Los Alamitos.
Fairfield is in third.
Urbandale is .5 points behind Fairfield, and 4 points behind Los Al.
Findlay and Johnston wrap up the top six.

Yes, but do the best female sound and male sound have good diction, dynamics, and do they blend and balance together?

Also, I'm slightly floored at the fact that neither Findlay NOR Fairfield received the Best Band caption... however, a big congrats to Johnston and all of the other finalists!

well im just saying if the got best girl and boys it just makes sense to me obviously they have the best if they got that award but i see what you are saying
