Were you at Great River???

If you were... that's great. I was there and saw every single performance of the entire preliminaries and finals. By seeing both performances, it was clear to me that Troy did not deserve the win. Their evening performance was very under-par and sloppy. Their day performance was pretty on target, but even then there were better groups competing that day. Maybe had Great River been this month, and Troy would have competed, maybe then they would have won. But, on February 17th, there were three better choirs.

i don't know if i completly agree with you on that, under par- meaning under average? sloppy? didnt they win best choreo. i find it hard for your arguement to stand tall. should they have won maybe not but second i think so. and better choirs given that all of them were good, i mean washington going from like 5th to 2nd, is all one judge from what i heard. but anyway it is in the books and nothing can be done but speculate about the verdict.

Troy has a tendancy to peak late in the season from what I've noticed. Last year they won at Branson in mid April and now look to be firing up here in mid March. In my opinion they should have won at Great River as well, but who am I to judge? LOL At any rate, they are really coming on strong in recent years and dare I say climbing that ladder of the top groups in the country? Way to go Troy!! Im so excited to see how things turn out at fame orlando, I really think you might give a serious showdown!!

Who did you have winning? I thought all the groups were excellent. I called the bottom 2 spots but was off after that.

How did you call the bottom two spots??

Wow... ooops! I was there, and had a slightly (read: MAJOR) different opinion, which I don't think I'll post out of fear of looking really, really stupid...

Boy - I was off!!!

I was talking to some Petal girls it the bathroom and they said they got a 10 point time penalty during their day show...I'm not sure about in finals though.

I heard some troy kids in the food line saying that they got THIRTY POINTS taken off for exceeding the time limit. For them to get THAT many points taken off and STILL make finals....then the judges must have been as impresed as I was! ( I thought they were A-MAZING!!! I saw them at sullivan last weekend and was blown away and then this weekend it was...mind boggling! They r my new fav!)

I wasn't there but I understand that Petal may have had a time penalty. If that's the case and the scores were as close as people say that they were, that could explain it.

Would anyone happen to have the final scores? I'm interested in finding out how Petal got best vocals, but then got fourth.

Ok so yesterday was definately a really fun and competitive competition, however, if what i hear is correct about how we got deductions for roughhousing (aka playing around in our room) and having food in the hallway, thats just ridiculous. No one warned us or anything becuase our only impression was that no food was allowed in the room and we were careful to make sure that didn't happen. So anyways, it sorta sucks since the competition was so close that we woul be penalized for that kind of stuff. Anyways, it was still a really fun day and all the hersey people were really nice. See ya next y " border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> ear.
