Announcing placements in every class after prelims is more common at southern competitions. Odds are, the top 3 large mixed groups are going to make finals. What is the point of announcing where each of those groups place during prelims? As I director, I may want my students to know where they placed during prelims, or sometimes I may not want them to know. After prelims, the directors received a break down of scores, but it was up to them if they wanted to share that info with their students.

Purvis used smoke machines for their Gotham City set. The fire alarm went off during the ballad, and they ended up performing the rest of their show with the fire alarm going off. They did an admirable job in spite of that. The alarm kind of almost went with their theme actually (at first, I thought it was part of the show).
Mark Malone and Nikki Johnson?? Whoot!!! I wish the other Jonese's were competing. Good luck to all groups!! Have fun!! Was hoping to attend but last minute business trip.... Have a fabulous time all.
Judges for this weekend are Michael Talamonti, Aaron Childress, Mark Malone, Semonne Strawbridge (Saturday only), and Nikki Melvin Johnson (Saturday solo and finals)
