Dr. Fitz is a professional in the areas of music, entertainment, leadership, and education. He is a nationals-level show choir judge, performance clinician, and show designer. For ten years as Executive & Artistic Director of Celebration Entertainment Academy, he served as director, producer, costume, show designer, vocal arranger, and instructor of both a conducting and voice studio. Dr. Fitz and his ensembles have performed at world-class venues across the U.S., China, and in Europe and have been featured performers on NBC, ABC and PBS television programming. Under his direction, the Celebration! Vocal-Show Ensemble was recognized by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission as “one of the most outstanding performance ensembles in its vast region”. This group also performed, by invitation, to a capacity audience at the prestigious American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Western Regional Conference in Salt Lake City and at the FAME Show Choir Cup in New York.
As a show choir consultant, the groups Dr. Fitz has worked with across the country have earned grand championships as well as caption awards for best vocal, best visual, best soloist, and outstanding performer. Twice, he successfully coached the eventual winners of the talent competition of the Miss California Scholarship Pageant, served as an artistic contributor on the nation’s largest televised multicultural holiday show, the Emmy-winning Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration, and worked as a consultant at the highly regarded GrammyMusicCamp. PerformersfromFitz’sprogramshavegoneontoleadingandfeaturedrolesonBroadway and have entertained tens of thousands with careers in major theme parks and cruise lines, while myriad others are thriving with careers in TV & lm, as well as in music education, performance, and composition. In addition to singing with and serving on the Artists’ Council for Paci c Chorale during concerts at Orange County’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Dr. Fitz also served on the Governing Board of Directors for Vox Femina Los Angeles, one of the premier women’s choruses in the U.S. He was recently appointed to the Brea Curtis Theatre Amplify Advisory Board where he has the privilege of showcasing a diverse array of artists that have been historically marginalized or underrepresented.
Currently, Dr. Fitz is a curriculum specialist for the Hacienda La Puente Uni ed School District and leadership faculty at University of La Verne. As a leader scholar at the University of Redlands, he earned the Doctor of Education in Leadership for Educational Justice, the Master of Education at Cambridge College, and did undergraduate studies in Choral Music Education and Music Business at Cal Poly Pomona State University.
