Drew Firkins is a music educator and freelance composer/arranger based out of Omaha, NE. He is the vocal music teacher at Russell Middle School in Millard, where he directs the 6th-8th grade choirs, two show choirs, a musical, and an a cappella group, in addition to directing the show bands at Millard West High School. He recently graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a degree in Music Education and Composition. In his time at UNL, Drew directed both the Bathtub Dogs a cappella group and Big Red Singers show choir, and was a member of the UNL Chamber Singers, University Singers, and the Cornhusker Marching Band.
An active composer and show choir arranger, he has worked for over twenty-five high school and collegiate show choirs throughout the country. He also serves as a clinician for several show choirs and show bands in the area, and teaches private voice at the SNJ Studio of Music. In his free time, Drew enjoys playing Nintendo games, cooking, being outdoors, traveling around the country, and cheering on the Huskers!
