Stanley A. Moody, director of choirs, holds a Bachelor of Music, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His principal teachers include Dr. Gary Mabry, Dr. Jerry McCoy, and Dr. John Silantien. Before coming to Seguin High School in the fall of 2014, Mr. Moody held positions as assistant choral director at James Bowie High School in Arlington, Tx and head choral director at New Braunfels Middle School and OakRun Middle School in New Braunfels, Tx. While working in New Braunfels ISD, Mr. Moody helped to form and co-direct the New Braunfels ISD Elementary Honor Choir. In addition, while in San Antonio, Mr. Moody served as Associate Artistic Director of the Alamo City Men's Choral, Director of Music at Northwood Presbyterian Church, and Interim Director of the New Braunfels Community Chorale. Upon his move to the DFW area, Mr. Moody accepted the position of Interim Director of Westminster Presbyterian Church and completed one year of study toward a Masters Degree in Choral Directing. Choirs under his direction are consistent recipients of UIL Sweepstakes awards and have been recognized as "Best In Class" in regional performance festivals. Mr. Moody occasionally serves as a guest clinician & judge throughout the State of Texas. In addition to teaching and conducting, Mr. Moody has sung professionally with the Lyric Opera of San Antonio, Saint Marks Episcopal Church in San Antonio, and the Dallas Chamber Choir. Mr. Moody maintains active memberships in the Texas Music Educator's Association, the Texas Choral Director's Association, and the American Choral Director's Association. In addition to his appointment at AISD Juan Seguin High School, Moody is the Director of Music at Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church where his choir performs for Sunday Morning Worship as well as prepares and performs a winter and spring concert.
