Sydney McCoy
Sydney McCoy is the Associate Vocal Music Director at East High and East Middle Schools in Sioux City, IA. At East High School, she directs Women's Chorale, Raider Choir, Women's A-Cappella (Basic Pitches), and the junior-varsity show choir, New Sound. At East Middle School, Sydney teaches 7th and 8th grade choirs. This is Sydney's second year in Sioux City and she is very grateful to be working with such wonderful students and colleagues.

Sydney McCoy is originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she attended Xavier High School, and had the privilege of singing under the direction of Dr. Andrew Last. She attended Iowa State University, where she studied voice under Prof. Mary Creswell. She also had the privilege to sing in the Iowa State Singers and Cantamus Women's Choir, which allowed her multiple opportunities to travel for National Conventions of the ACDA and NCCO. Sydney enjoyed lead roles in the ISU Opera Studio and ISU Theatre during her time at Iowa State University. She graduated with her Bachelors of Music Education, and the proceeded to work at Johnston Middle School as a long-term substitute. Sydney landed her first full-time job at Moravia Schools, where she taught preschool through 12th grade vocal music, including a spring musical and show choir.
