Phillip Bailey
Phillip Bailey is a Marshall University graduate that holds a BA in Music Education. He has also studied Graduate level conducting at Marshall under the direction of Captain Brian Walden. Now, he pursues a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at MU. He has guest conducted various ensembles throughout the tri-state region, including the Marshall University ensembles: Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Choral Union, and the Trinity Episcopal Choir in concert with Kenny Rogers. Phillip music directed several Musical Theatre productions, including CMHS productions since 2016 and Huntington Area Regional Theatre's production of Shrek the Musical. As a performer, Phillip has sang with the Marshall University Chorus and Choral Union, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity Men's Chorus, Trinity Episcopal Church Choir, and West Virginia Symphony Chorus. As an instrumentalist, Phillip has performed on multi-woodwinds in various ensembles and musical theatre companies throughout he tri-state, including the MU Wind Symphony, Fife and Drum Corp, Symphonic Band, MU Sax Ensemble, and the Marching Thunder. Within the musical theatre community, Phillip has performed in the orchestra with Curtains Up Players, ARTS, Ashland Community and Technical College, and Marshall University Theatre Department. Throughout his musical career, Phillip has worked on staff with high school musical programs throughout West Virginia, including Magnolia High School marching band, Huntington High School marching band, Sissonville High School marching band, Cabell Midland High School Marching Knights, and Hurricane High School Red Hot Show Choir as instrumental director.
