Rico Hamilton
Tenor and Conductor Rico D. Hamilton, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Hamilton has been privileged to be in many musical theatre and oratorio productions performing many roles, including Coalhouse Walker, Jr. in Ragtime, Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Damn Yankees and many more. He has traveled around the world, performing in China, Canada, Memphis, TN., Petoskey, MI. and in many other locations. Mr. Hamilton has participated in and won numerous competitions and festivals and has used his talents to inspire and educate. Mr. Hamilton has acquired his undergraduate degree in Voice Music Education while minoring in Conducting and extended study in Ethnomusicology at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN. There he studied voice with the renowned Mezzo-soprano Marietta Simpson, was mentored in conducting by Dr. Michael Schwartzkopf and served as the Vocal coach for JMuse Productionz, a student-run Production Company. Mr. Hamilton started his voice studies with Fred Meads and the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir and thanks them for providing him a sound foundation for his musical career. He is excited to be the new assistant choral director at Texas City High School and is anxious to hear all of the wonderful singers he will make new memories with.
