Alex Carr
Alexander Carr is the director of Vocal Music at the new I. M. Terrell Academy for Visual and Performing Arts in Fort Worth. Prior to his appointment at I.M. Terrell, Mr. Carr worked in Keller ISD as the Associate Choir Director at Keller High School and as the Director and Co-Founder of the Keller ISD 5th and 6th Grade Honor Choir.

Choirs under Mr. Carr’s direction have consistently earned UIL Sweepstakes awards and Best-in-Class at local festivals. Singers in his choirs have successfully competed in UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition and earned membership in the TMEA All-Region and All-State choirs. In 2017, Mr. Carr conducted the KISD 5th and 6th Grade Honor Choir in their performance for the Texas Music Educators Association Convention. He was also the Associate Conductor of the Keller High School Varsity Treble Choir in performances for the American Choral Directors Association National Conference in 2017 and the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in 2014.

Mr. Carr received his Master of Music degree in 2011 and Bachelor of Music Education in 2009 from Texas Christian University, where he studied with Dr. Eph Ehly, Dr. Sheri Neill, and Prof. Ronald Shirey. At TCU, Alex served as the choral conducting graduate assistant, the director of the TCU Men’s Chorus, and the drum major of the Horned Frog Marching Band.

Since 2008, Mr. Carr has also served as the Choir Director at Ridglea Christian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his church choir family are avid TCU supporters. When not rehearsing, you can find them at a TCU game or concert. Mr. Carr is a member of ACDA, TMEA, UEA, and the TCU Ex-Bandsmen Association.
