Paul Aikins
Paul has a degree in Vocal Music from the University of Western Ontario, and is a graduate from OISE – Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto. He holds an Honours Specialist in Vocal Music. He has been on staff at Etobicoke School of the Arts (ESA) since 1999 and recently was featured in the television special “Great Lives of Canadian Teachers" on CBC. Paul studied acting at FACT in Paris (Franco Americain Cinema Theatre), and voice with Kevin Stites, Paul Massell, and Roma Riddell. He has studied with many dance teachers at the former Randolph Studios in Toronto. Paul has worked professionally in Music Theatre for 12 years, represented by The Talent House, Career highlights: The Stratford Festival, Huron Country Playhouse, NCL Cruiseline, and Canada’s first mega-musical, Napoleon, where he can also be heard on the Cast Recording. More recently, he has been focused on Directing/Producing, and has co-directed & produced several shows at ESA, including A Chorus Line, Les Miserables, Footloose, Seussical, Cats, Anne of Green Gables, Fosse, Swing, and Urinetown. Check out “Unsung:Behind the Glee” on TVO/Shaftesburry Films, which won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Arts Documentary. The documentary features the three-time Canadian Grand Champion Show Choir, SPLASH. Paul is also the founder/Artistic Director of the popular Triple Threat and Dance Intensive with The Master Class Series.
