Show Choir Community    Personnel    Megan Rader

Megan Rader
Megan Rader has been the Director of Choral Programs at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the past 5 years. A graduate of Eldorado and proud alumni of their long tradition of excellence in choral music, Megan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Denver - Lamont School of Music and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico.

While studying Vocal Performance, Megan appeared in numerous operas and plays as well as sung with several jazz ensembles. After earning her BM, she focused her sights on the classroom. She has been a music teacher within the Albuquerque Public Schools district since 2006 and is passionate about music education and working with young people. Megan also has broad experience in musical theater and drama and loves every opportunity to use these skills.

During her time at Eldorado, she has served as the director and music director for three full-length musical productions, all which played for sold out audiences. Under her direction, the Eldorado Choirs, classical and show, have received numerous awards and accolades, but her true passion is cultivating a cooperative and supportive learning community of young performers and empowering them to take risks and embrace their craft.

She continues to sing locally and has sung with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus, St. John's United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, and Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest. Most recently, Megan appeared as a guest soloist with the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus and Q-Tones. Megan has a small private voice studio and enjoys spending time with her husband Matt, their dog, Lucky and cat, Diva.
