Aaron Zart is the Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Troy Buchanan High School. This year, he co-directs the Eighth Grade Choir, Women’s Choir, Freshman Choir, Concert Choir, both TBHS show choirs, and the annual musical. Zart is a member of ACDA, NAfME, the Barbershop Harmony Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa. This will be Aaron’s first year teaching and he is extremely excited to get a start in such an amazing program.
Zart was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where he got his Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While at UNL, he participated in a variety of different choral ensembles such as Varsity Men’s Chorus, Big Red Singers, and University Singers, holding many leadership roles in each. Aaron also directed UNL’s premiere all-male a cappella group, The Bathtub Dogs, which has received numerous awards and has released 5 studio albums.
Other than teaching choir, Aaron’s second passion is for barbershop music. He served as the assistant director for the Lincoln Continentals Barbershop Chorus, has been hired as a clinician and coach for barbershop ensembles and Harmony Explosion camps, founded and directed The Good Life Chorus (Nebraska’s first youth barbershop chorus), and has sang in many choruses and quartets.
Aaron also loves football - especially watching his Huskers on Saturdays in the fall. Go Big Red!
