Mrs. Courtney Wright grew up in Kimberling City, MO. After high school she received her Associate of Arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO in 2002; followed by her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar in 2005 and her Masters in Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Missouri State University in 2014.
Mrs. Wright taught 7-12 Choral Music, Show Choir, Piano, Advanced Placement Music Theory, Reel Music, and Music Appreciation for ten years in the Webb City, Carl Junction, and Monett School Districts. She has taught Dual Credit Music History for Crowder College, conducted the Madrigal Singers and co-taught Beginning Conducting at Missouri Southern State University. She currently teaches K-5 Music at Sequiota Elementary for Springfield Public Schools, as well as adjunct for Drury University in Springfield, MO.
During her tenure at Webb City High School, nine of her students were selected to the Missouri All-State Choir through the Missouri Music Educators Association. Several of her students have gone to study music in college and have been a part of multiple performing groups. Eighty percent of her students received a 5 on the AP Music Theory Exam, which is a near perfect score. She is also an active adjudicator around the state for music festivals, show choir festivals, and state music contests.
Courtney, and her wife Sara, love spoiling their baby daughter Marleigh and their four fur babies.
