As someone who watched a GC slip away thanks to the ranking system, I have a right to be negative about it. I have never liked it, and I never will! That's my opinion. And if you don't like it, that's fine! You have the right to your opinions just like I do!
My post was not referring to any kind of ranking system. I would be curious to hear how you think a ranking system works, as typically, it's (mathematically) the fairest way out there.
As someone with a college degree in Music Education, I am strongly opinionated about the fact that another grown adult, alumni or not, just told another group that they did not deserve to win. Ok. I wasn't there. So someone explain to me how a choir wins a competition when the only caption they won is overall effect?!?! I love Homewood, but if you don't win either Choreo or Vocals, you don't deserve to win. What kind of scoring system is in place at Opelika? I mean come on.... This is a little ridiculous. When is the show choir world gonna outlaw the ranking system? I mean it's pretty crazy and extremely unfair to give a choir more points, but then rank them in a lower position. It's called playing favorites. I'm not saying that's what happened, but I've seen it before and it's the only way that these results make any sense.

Mary Grace, the Starfish soloist from Opelika, just tweeted me a few minutes ago that Auburn was still performing and they are the last group so we should have results soon! She also said that all the groups really showed out in finals so it's gonna be a tough call! Here's my prediction:
GC-Auburn(Vocals, Band, Show Design)
1RU-Homewood(Choreo)
2RU-Jackson Prep
3RU-Oak Mountain
4RU-Enterprise
Just sayin... IF Auburn beats Homewood, I called it last week. But like I also said, Homewood has a way of ramping it up in finals so they could come back and win. They've already done it once this year!
