Thanks! We appreciate your prayers.

You're welcome! Is there any damage to Petal high? Is the competition still a go?

Heard about the Hattiesburg tornado. Hope all goes well and Oak Grove is still able to attend Homewood! Praying for you guys and surrounding areas such as Petal.

Thanks! We appreciate your prayers.

Hey all, I was just talking to a very good friend of mine who part of the Oak Grove choir and she informed me that they aren't sure if they will be attending or not. The tornado caused a whole in the ceiling of their choir room where their costumes are. But, the costumes were in boxes so they aren't sure what their condition of them is because their room is "destroyed," as she put it. They won't be back to school until Thursday at the earliest, and I will let people know when I can!

I'll be heading to Homewood for Friday and Saturday instead of just Saturday. Does anyone have a middle school schedule?

Finalist Predictions:

Clinton
Madison Central
South Jones
Jackson Prep
Petal

Picking this was so hard. I haven't seen or heard anything about Petal this year but I can see the, getting a finals spot. I haven't seen or heard anything about Oak Grove either. As for Enterprise, I agree with the above comment anout them making it in if they improve enough. Even though they got best choreo at Opelika. It's just hard to say. I CAN NOT WAIT.

As for actual final predictions, using the finalist I picked I'd say:

GC- Clinton
1RU- Madison/South
2RU- South/Madison
3RU- Jackson Prep
4RU- Petal

**edit: I put Auburn in finals and they aren't even going. Lol

Based on all of the groups I've seen...
GC= Clinton attaché - best overall effect ,band ,vocals
1st- Jackson Prep- best choreo
2nd- South
3rd- Madison
4th- oak grove - enterprise

Hopefully this competition will be better then recent ones this season and this competition last year judging wise!
Good luck to all of the groups performing !
Madison could beat south
Enterprise could get in if they improve enough
I have not seen petal

I can not wait for this competition! So glad I'm getting to go. I have a feeling this is gonna be a blood bath and it's hard to even predict what's going to happen!

For the ones putting Petal so low, you have no idea. They have an excellent show and some GREAT talent this year. As well as South Jones. I haven't been able to see oak grove or Jackson prep. This is going to be a very interesting competition.

I'm going to throw out my predictions, a little ealy, and I have seen ZERO of these groups this year. And I am throwing out my sleepers here.

GC: Clinton (Sweep)
1ru: Jackson Prep [Tie for choreo]
2ru: South Jones
3ru: Oak Grove
4ru: Madison Central

6th: Petal
7th: Oak Mountain
8th: Enterprise

Small Mixed:
GC: Albertville/West Jones
1ru: West Jones/Albertville
3ru: Brandon

I'm confident with my large mixed predictions, and yes, they are rather wild, but I think this is a good competition to see some sleepers appear. as for the small mixed, I havent seen any group in years, excepts for Albertville of course. so i base it on what happened last year. and Censations has been working extremely hard and just flat out working there tails off this year. But out of respect, I can see other groups beating them out, this is an extremely tough competition, no doubt.

But goodluck to all groups and I look forward to hearing the results in a couple of weeks!

I agree with these predictions. Sounds pretty good to me! The only thing I'd probably change is Madison Central beating out Oak Grove. So I'd just swap those! Otherwise I agree completely.

As for small mixed, I agree with this as well. I could see Brandon possibly in the 1RU spot though.

This is a tough competition and it's hard to say for sure what's going to happen! Can't wait.

In the small mixed, I feel like your skipping over some really good groups. Tarpon Springs is awesome and they won last year. I can see them doing well, as well as Albertville CenSations! and Jackson Academy Encore. Also, Briarwood won at Tallasse and I heard that they're amazing!

I based my predictions on award record, and as far as this year goes:

Jackson Academy placed 6th in their division at SJ, behind West Jones (advanced to finals), PRC, and Sumrall.
According to SCC, Briarwood didn't place in the top 5 in their division at Tallassee.
Tarpon Springs and Albertville haven't competed yet, so I simply had nowhere to place them (not to say that they couldn't place well, which I'm sure they can).

Brandon won their division at JA and advanced to finals, which is extremely respectable, considering this is their first year as a high school show choir. Also, they have the advantage of having had the same director with the same group of kids since elementary school.
West Jones won their division at SJ and PRCC and advanced to finals at both. A few years ago, they were a large mixed group, and they seem to have built back up.
PRC got 2nd at both SJ and PRCC (to West Jones) and advanced to finals at PRCC. They finished ahead of groups like Sumrall, Jackson Academy, and Purvis.

**Edited for silly typos.

Okay this lineup is completely unfair in that only 5 groups can make finals. It is SO exciting because way more than 5 of them have already placed well this year (not only large mixed groups too)!

Small Mixed Predictions:
1st: Brandon (Made finals at JA)
2nd: West Jones (Made finals at SJ)
3rd: PRC (Made finals at PRCC)

Women's Predictions:
1st: Auburn
2nd: West Jones (Made finals at SJ)
3rd: Oak Mountain

Large Mixed Predictions:
1st: Clinton (They are who they are)
2nd: Madison Central (GC at JA)
3rd: Jackson Prep
4th: South Jones (GC at PRCC)
5th: Petal
6th-8th: This is sad because Oak Grove, Oak Mountain, and Enterprise are all really good groups!

So Finals Predictions:
Madison Central--definite
Clinton--definite
Jackson Prep--definite
Other two spots are toss ups between: South Jones, Petal, Oak Grove, Oak Mountain, or even Brandon

Finals placement predictions (If I had to guess):
GC: Clinton (sweep)
1RU: Jackson Prep
2RU: Madison Central
3RU: South Jones
4RU: Petal

This may be one of the best line ups at any southern contest that I've ever seen.
