Ya Ankeny super deserved this one. They were so clean and had amazing energy throughout the show.

Xavier REALLY stepped it up in finals. They did a great job. They were the only group besides Ankeny to make the sound system work in their favor. With no band their voices were very clear. They were also super clean. And I gotta shout out to my girl Ameena, who ROCKED it!!!

Prairie definitely had the best show design of the day. Their show was great.

I want to thank all of the directors, students, parents and fans who attended Raise the Roof yesterday! With all of the show choir competition options out there, we are honored that you chose to spend some time with us. We strive to put on the best event we can and would love to hear any suggestions you have for things we can do to improve the visitor experience...or even things we are already doing well that you don't want us to change. If you don't want to post them here, feel free to send me an email at: [email protected].

Thank you again! Hopefully we'll see you all again at our 10th Anniversary Raise The Roof event on March 1, 2014!

Sincerely,
Storm Ziegler

Im a little sad the seasons over and sadder that people predicted us getting 5th in finals, but yeah getting second was awesome. Ankeny definately deserved 1st they are soooo clean and have a nice choral sound. Prairie show was definately my favorite other than xavier's of course.

Thanks to Kennedy for putting on a fantastic competition! Your parents and students are wonderful representatives of your school and Iowa show choir- so hospitable and would literally give the shirt off their back if needed (Thank God Damon wasn't there this year ).

Ankeny just ran away with this one. I've gotten out of the habit of commenting on competing groups at competitions we attend- but wow... Congrats on two fabulous performances. The show certainly isn't your typical "Ankeny" show that pops in your mind, but it WORKS. The opener and ballad are just gorgeous. I'm still scratching my head with how you all produce that much sound. Congrats! One of my favorite vocal performances I've heard this season.

All the other groups were fantastic as well. This was a serious line up of 4A groups! It was a great day.

By the way, Chad Alexander did not make it because of the weather. Lynne Rothrock stepped in for him.

I'll take a shot at predictions.
1st Ankeny- (BV) (BC)
2nd Prairie (BB)
3rd Muscatine
4th Washington
5th Xavier
6th Ankeny prep

I feel that 3-5th could switch, and prairie could challenge ankeny. Although prairie is my favorite show, ankeny is the best group I have seen all year.
It should be an interesting day, and I'm excited

I only have 1 change I am going to make from yours.

3rd Cedar Rapids Washington "Momentum"
4th Muscatine

I think it will be too, there are going to be a lot of good prep groups here! I'm assuming from your comment that you'll be in attendance for the prep competition? Here are my prep predictions:

I'm hoping to make it in for Focal Point and just spend the rest of the day round in the gym.

You should totally come for all the prep groups too! That's going to be one wicked competition in itself!
