I am sad to announce that we will not be able to do a live feed for this one. I pushed for it as hard as I could, but the auditorium does not have any internet connection and we weren't able to find a workable solution to make it happen this year.

I'll post the DVD order information, judge list, and complete schedule as soon as I can.

Good thing we still love you Häakon <3

Is the performance order on the Los Alamitos Xtravaganza website the actual lineup or was that something different?

After seeing Burbank's show, I think the results will go something like this:

1st: Burroughs (BV, Best Musicianship)
2nd: Wheaton (BC, Best Showmanship)
3rd: Burbank
4th: Twinsburg
5th: Homewood

And does anyone know who will be judging? I know Los Alamitos traditionally has Midwest judges and only 1 or 2 judges from the California region.

Does anyone have times for performances? If there will be a live feed, some of us less fortunate people (those not at Los Al) will need that info

Häakon mentioned it a bit on page 4. Here is what he said:

We are working on a live feed, but it depends entirely on if we can get internet to the school's theater. That hasn't been resolved yet.

Burbank made their debut at Hart and came first. To those that saw them, any changes to your predictions?

Nope

QUOTE (Alex Wampler @ Mar 14 2013, 05:14 PM) *

Do you want the Midwest choirs to crash and burn because of lack of breathing time? I'm confused on why you want the judges to see that. In my eyes, 15 minutes of rough choreo is better than 2 minute spirts of energy through a 20 minute show.

Oh... also *spurts

QUOTE (jacoblaeson @ Mar 15 2013, 11:06 AM) *

Midwest show choirs usually have about 15.
I'm totally not saying it's wrong I just think it's a very different stylistic choice that can probably produce favorable results.

I think that both of these comments were a little uncalled for. Bashing another choir's choices is not only unclassy, but unproffessional and not sportsmanlike in any way.

QUOTE (tscott @ Mar 15 2013, 02:13 PM) *

My question was rhetorical. Only three things are necessary for choreography to produce favorable results:
1) Is it stylistically appropriate?
2) Does it enhance the text?
3) Is it well executed?
Anything else just muddies the water and brings down the show.

This is exactly how I interpreted the question. This question would be rhetorical in any form because:

1. it's completely subjective

and

2. when you answer, others will think you consider the group under par if they don't happen to meet the "requirements" you state.

Exactly how many minutes of a 20 minute show should be "hard" or "rough" choreography?
