Could anyone give me a small bio of the judges? I don't know much about many judges other than ones like Eklund and April James.
All of these judges have done many things, but here is one notable item for each.
Brandon Dean- former director at Ankeny
Linda McEachran- former director at Buffalo Grove
Michelle Jensen- former director at Burbank
Matt Huth- current director at Waukee
Dina Else- former director at West Des Moines Valley

I know what ya mean. It really is too bad that some people are so overly sensitive. There is a fine line between "protecting" your group and taking everything said for way more than it is. I think that alot of people are afaid to say "I simply did not like your show". However, people will not always have positive opinions on every group. I am not afraid to speak my dislikes about a show. Because of this I always try and throw in a "Personal Message me if you dont agree" type of statement so that if someone disagrees with my statements I can hopefully dive deeper into my reasons for not liking certain aspects. I feel like a lot of people never explain their predictions. They just throw out their thoughts with zero reasons given. People would be surprised how much their ideas would change if they actually took time to think about why each group is predicted where. Ill admit my original gut instinct had LSW about totino but then I thought about how each group will rehearse. Groups can come a LONG way between competitions and some groups could barely improve at all. Its all a mentality thing.

I'm extremely excited and happy that people really like our show! And want us to be successful! GISH didn't go to this competition last year and it was a bummer, but when we came my freshman year, I had a blast. I honestly would put this competition on my top 3 favorite competitions! I can't wait! And Jonathan we can finally be able to eat lunch or dinner or whatever together! :D Good Luck to all the groups competing! It will be a hard one so we're bringing the heat!
GISH: I really really wanna see you guys do well here. The same will hold true to as did to Elkhorn..."Insert Gretna Critique Here" However, most people would not always want to see a group 3 weekends in a row. I am however extremely excited to see you all again for the 3 competition this year. I can vouch for how far you have come between Gretna and last weekend. If you all keep making the strides you did. WOW you all will be amazing! :p

Agreed, one of the better previews/predictions I have ever seen. Better than most descriptions of actual placements.

Explanations
Mitchell--I remember talking to someone who I shall not named at a competition last year. We were facing you in the coming weeks at Ralston so I will admit that I was trying to get an idea of what my group was gonna be up against :p That person said that you all were extremely young. You all were great lst year and just throw in one more year of maturity. BOOM Grand Champions here. Also your shows have done extremely well here in the past times you were here which I think was my junior year?
Totino: Not exactly a picture perfect start to your season but hey. That is why groups compete more than once. I have a feeling that your rehearsals have a a fire driving them since you last competed so I think yall will be great. Last year Mitchell got 4th in their first competition and then ended up getting 1RU at Ralston the next weekend. I hope that you all can have that flip like they did because I really love seeing you all do well.
LSW: You all did extremely well at Midwest Cup. I really wish I coulda be there but I was at Gretna. From what I have heard though you all dance like crazy this year(like usual). I also heard that your vocals are much improved. I think I might be one of the few people that is indifferent about the ballad but I really hope that seeing it live changes my mind.
Elkhorn South: I absolutely love your show. I saw it twice at Gretna and after finals I went and found out if you were gonna be at COE. This would be a long reason so im just gonna say "Insert my Gretna Critique Here"

I really didnt know who to put in here. GINW, Souix City East, Keller Texas, Lewis Central.
I f I had to pick a group that I would want in based on non show choir reasons it would be Keller Texas. I am friends with a lot of kids in your group now and alot of your alumni. I hosted yall the last time you were here and cant wait to see you!!!
Now if it was based on show choir(which it is) I would give the nod to GINW or Souix City East.

Since no one has really thrown out any predictions, I'll try one.

This list is a little bias with a nice mix of previous competition results and the unknown of a few of the groups like "Friend de Coup. I could see the top two switching around pretty easily based on Friend de Coup's past performances and I could also see Elkhorn sneaking into the top 3 since they have been doing really well this year. Also, Totino seems to be having a little down year but they are always one of the top groups so who knows what they could do.
This year COE will be selling tshirts for the first time since the original year of the competition. Just wanted to give a preview of what the shirts look like (they will be long sleeved with silver ink). I believe they are $15 and will be on sale the day of the competition.

I can't wait to get one of these shirts! Who else is excited for this competition? Because this guy is! It'll be a true bloodbath to the finish! I'm excited to watch Lincoln Southwest, I fell in love with their ballad. And Totino Grace and our good friends from Mitchell! GAH!
