I would just like to thank all of the people at Brodhead who helped run a great competition! I really enjoyed the cheese curds too You made it a memorable last competition!
Congrats to all groups who made finals! Huge congrats to Monona on the GC and Captions! You guys had a fantastic set this year. What was the new ending?
We "killed the virus" in the end instead of the virus getting us.
It started out kinda crappy because I forgot my piano music, and had to botch together an incomplete book to play the show out of. Almost all of us came off the stage in the daytime feeling like it wasn't our best show ever, and I was convinced we weren't in finals. THEN......finals were announced and I literally flew out of my seat! I was only even more ecstatic when I found out we came in third. We were all glad to get a chance to redeem ourselves.
Our finals show went 100x better, and even though we were disappointed with the finals outcome, that's just the way things work sometimes! I am truly grateful we even got a chance in finals!
I watched several shows throughout the day, and I have to say, after hearing big things about Neenah and Preble, they didn't really live up to my expectations. However, there was a lot of potential in both the shows, and I completely agree with Neenah getting best dressed! There was something good about that color scheme.
Monona Grove simply floored me. Period. It ranks in my "best show choir performances ever" among such names as Burbank and Waubonsie Valley. EVERYTHING was just so good! Being from Sauk I know how hard it is to put a believable themed show together, and they did it PERFECTLY!! They sold me on every number, and what I "paid for" was a bunch of goosebumps! Congrats on the win, and BTW, I like the new ending!!!!!!!

Well you know what John, a week ago today I would have said "Altoona will not win Monona Grove" and look what happened! You especially should be thankful for unexpected results given how the weekend turned out. I know we here at Sauk certainly appreciate unexpected things happening, and we have had our share of them. We too know what it feels like to win GC one week and not make finals the next.
In the show choir world, nothing is set in stone, and one has to be very careful before making absolute statements. Personally, I like to factor in many things before even consider making predictions. I would be willing to bet that I am not the only one who looks at things like judges, location, and precedent before calling anything.
AND, just so you know, we are not confident either. You should also know that it doesn't do a group any good to ASSUME they will be in finals. While we are working hard this week to make that finals spot happens, we won't know until Saturday, and nobody will.

I know, this was extremely immature of me and I did not mean any disrespect to Sauk. You guys are great. I love your gold costumes. Its simply called high fashion. Really pops
Also, congrats to all the groups yesterday. I didn't realize how many well-known groups would be in attendance yesterday. Everyone had great shows from what I heard and saw.
On another note, I'm really glad that the Spotlighters were able to move up a few spots (no pun intended) from the afternoon. They have an awesome and solid show this year, and fifth place was not the place for them. Congrats to the Spots!

Sauk Prairie will not make finals. Sorry to say. I just do not see it. I will take Monona Grove at GC. BB BV BC. And Logan taking second Neenah taking third
