Does Action PitStop not have up pictures yet? I can't seem to find them online, but I could be over-looking.

And I'm not sure of the ruling on going over time, but I assure you it isn't a loss of a point for every second. The standard at most competitions is one point per minute.

I don't doubt that you are correct... I've probably just been under the wrong impression for a long time... But thanks!

I really want to know what csdude said about west ha what did yall think about our show? I really hope yall like it!

Well, my friend, I LOVE me some "Imagination"! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Seeing your show was a real treat! First off, your song choices are great. "Virtuoso" was my favorite. Your opener was very strong. Good use of dynamics in the ballad. I didn't understand the girls' glasses in the Jo Bros song but I just went with it anyhow. I got the feeling like yall kinda got tired at the end. Your outfits add a tasteful touch to the show (especially the opening dresses). Yall have an incredible band backing you up. Overall, I think yall have an amazing show and a tallented group of performers. I agree with your spot in finals. I know yall probably didn't place as high as yall wanted to, but don't let it discourage you. The season just started and I think the future is bright for "Imagination". I'll see yall again at Opelika!

I was waiting until more information and knowledge of the issue became available before commenting on the subject, but yes, there was a scoring discrepancy last night.

I got a call about it shortly after the awards ceremony ended; below is the explanation I was given:

The discrepancy came from the input of Finals rankings into the computer for processing and printing of the Finals placements. The person in charge of input mistakenly flip-flopped two rankings by judge John Flannery, inputing "3rd" for Albertville, and "4th" for Pascagoula (where it should have been "3rd" for Pascagoula and "4th" for Albertville).

With the scores between the two choirs already being so close, this mistake was enough to flip the two groups in the final standings. Had the scores been input correctly, Pascagoula would have been announced as 2nd Runner-Up, and Albertville as 3rd Runner-Up.

The directors of both choirs were made aware of the situation last night, and it is being handled accordingly. South Jones means to take nothing away from the outstanding performance by Albertville, but Pascagoula must be honored with their true placement of 2nd Runner-Up. They will be awarded a new trophy of their placement to show that.

There was absolutely no excuse good enough to justify the mistake made last night. South Jones (and all involved with this competition) can only hope to move forward from this, and continue to put on a competition of outstanding quality, without controversy, for years to come.

I don't complain much, but there is something I must say... How does a group only get 2 points taken off for going 1:26 over the time limit? Now don't get me wrong, Albertville is one of my favorite groups... Read some of my prior posts... But only 2 points? I was under the impression that at most competitions, a point was taken off for every second over the time limit, meaning that Albertville would've lost 86 points if that were the case here... However, I'm sure NE Jones would've loved to have been in Finals, and I know my group would love a higher placement... South Jones ran a great competition, but I question this scoring penalty...

NE Jones: Good show, good choreography... A lot of girls, not so many guys...

I agree about them having many girls. I noticed that NE Jones' girls group did not perform. Did they do away with that group?

Anywho, I don't really remember much of NE Jones' show, I just remember them doing really well. I must say though, their closer was amazingly entertaining. I loved the dresses, choreography, and how the guys lifted the girls up and were spinning circles. It just amazed me.

South Jones, your show is amazing. I wasn't expecting all the energy after having such a long day but you guys performed like it was a competition for you as well. Your ballad soloist was amazing and overall it sounded amazing too, but the song was so sad. I cannot wait to see you guys again.

West Jones, I enjoyed your show a lot it was very entertaining. It surely did keep me awake.

Albertville, I absolutly love your show concept. During Prelims I was like what, but I understood it when finals came around. I loved how your show was different and had that theatrical side to it. Your ballad was amazing and I enjoyed it.

Petal, your chorreography was crazy awesome. I loved the show and when I heard you were doing 4 minutes I was wondering how that would go and it turned out to be amazing. I just about jumped out of my seat when your props were falling, I was not expecting that. Congratulations on your success you sure did earn/deserve it.

Pascagoula, I love how your show's concept as well. What a great time to do a show about change when we are experiencing change. Your choreography was very clean and sharp, vocals were amazing as always, and your energy was great. I cannot wait to see your show again.

Everybody did well so congratulations for everyone's success.

Yesterday was crazy... Here are my thoughts...

Petal: Wow... Best they've been in 3 or 4 years... The guys number was a little weird in Finals, but everything else was wonderful...

Homewood: Best vocals they've had in as long as I can remember... The opener and ballad were flat out amazing... If the guys and girls numbers would have been a little more energetic, I think they would've won...

Pascagoula: High energy throughout the show... Sharp choreography... Great vocals... Typical Pascagoula ...

West Jones: I thought we were much better vocally in Finals... I'd like to see us beat one of the big boys before the year is over...

NE Jones: Good show, good choreography... A lot of girls, not so many guys...

My day was especially crazy... After our Finals performance, we were moving our riser extensions off the stage... I blacked out for a split second after what I think was heat exhaustion and fell off the edge of the 2nd level onto the stage floor with the riser... It landed on my hand and somehow ripped my pants in an area I'd rather not talk about (it could have been a lot worse if you catch my drift)... I missed South Jones because I was laid out in the hospitality room, very dizzy... I'm typing one-handed right now because I smashed the fingernail on my index finger and quite possibly broke my middle finger, but it's definitely severely bruised... I got back into the auditorium just in time for awards, but I was out of it anyways... I got home and didn't remember how we placed I was so dizzy... But anyways, I have two things to say about yesterday... 1. Symbol crashes and armography please the judges... 2. Watch your step coming off of the risers!

By the way, does anyone know the score differentials for Finals?

Random tip for anyone going to a compeititon:

When Albertville perfomrs, if you actually want to watch the most AMAZING ballad ever, don't sit on the front row....so much fog! lol But probably the most stunning number I saw all night

Most people may not know this information. I found out from a South Jones person that some of the scoring and placement accidentally got messed up (got typed in wrong) in finals.

Last night, finals awards were announced as:
GC-Petal
1st RU-Homewood
2nd RU-Albertville
3rd RU-Pascagoula
4th RU-West Jones

HOWEVER, that is not correct. The CORRECT placement is:
GC-Petal
1st RU-Homewood
2nd RU-Pascagoula
3rd RU-Albertville
4th RU-West Jones

Somehow the scoring and placement got mixed up in the printing.

whoa....
is that true..
can someone from south jones verify this??
cody mac?
company dad?

I just wanted to write a quick note thanking the stage crew from yesterday. All of the parents working backstage were very helpful and accomodating.

last night was absoluletly amazing.
although i was extremely tired during finals[from having been there since 7:30 am]
i did have the pleasure of seeing every group perform...
A & AA womens & the mens group.

pascagoula:it was entirely different from anything i have ever seen. the girls never left the stage to change, and they didnt have a guys or girls number. but it was fabulous! definitely the cleasest & sharpest choir every year. for a group that had so many new members it was not even noticable that it was their first year. good job you guys. you DID NOT deserve fourth in finals.

pearl river central: wow. if i rememeber correctly you guys were the "wolf gang" last year..? yall did AMAZING. it was like watching a brand new choir. my jaw was pretty much on the floor. kudos to you guys.. it was fantastic.

wayne county:i saw alot of improvement from last year.. the only thing that i found odd was yall had the same exact choreography as albertville three or four years ago for rubberband man, other than that it was much better than last year.

jackson academy: you too have improved so much. the ballad was awesome! & yall had a great band.! & throughtout the show you guys had so much energy. it was entertaining.

albertville: always one of my personal favorites. props.amazing. vocals. amazing. choreo. amazing. show design. amazing. i think that in the south, they are not used to seeing shows like that, mid-west style shows, and they didnt know what to think. but i loved it.

homewood: what an opener! i was floored! vocals blew me away.! great job you guys!!!
petal: ahhhhh!! wowowowowowow. awesome show awesome props. definitely a first place show in my eyes. not to sound offensive but some of your shows in the past i did not find that entertaining even though the vocals were great.. but this show litterally had me on the edge of my seat. it was great.

south jones!!!! what can i say. you guys rocked last night. i just wish i could put your show on repeat and watch it everday =]

i too agree that bethany was amazing as always, but phillip estes, who sang half of his song acapella, floored me.

congrats to everyone yesterday.!
