I am pretty pumped for this trip as well, roadtrips are the bomb. And no stress of competing.
Yeah I'm pretty pumped to see all my Totino people again and to cheer on Papio (Nebraska represent!). Jeff, we need to find some more people to go with us.
Can't wait for this competition. This competition is less than a week away, I'm soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!! Anyone know who the hosts for Totino are???? Can't wait to see everyone there!!!!

From Mexico:
-Pass through border security
-Rt at Grand Canyon (you'll notice a big hole in the ground before Arby's)
-Lft at Amarillo (just after 14,000th piece of sagebrush)
-North to South Dakota (Rt at Mountain with President face graffiti)
-Pick-up directions from west as previously described
Glad someone finally posted these. I'll actually be walking from Mexico, so I'll just print these directions out first. Thanks!
At least the stink won’t be coming from the show choirs at this competition. I’ve seen most of these groups already this year and they all have been fantastic. I’ve been directing show choirs for 30 years and each year the groups get better and they seem to be prepared to compete much earlier in the season. This can only lead to more opportunities for new directors, choreographers, and arrangers. What a great time to be a teacher.

Just to add some (friendly) neighborly rivalry ribbing here - to get to Urbandale, just follow the stench!
KIDDING!!!! Just a joke - don't get worked up y'all!!! (actually, I bet they could say you get there by steering AWAY from the stench - i.e. Johnston on the north side of the freeway)
And with the way everything is growing around NW Des Moines, I bet there will be a half dozen new stop lights all along that route. Seems every time I come home something new has been built.
Regardless - everybody cross your fingers for clear weather so I can get over there and watch this one!
You want to talk about stench??? Let's talk about Cedar Rapids and Decatur then.

See you soon!
I think if you are coming from I-80 from the west Aurora will actually be the third stoplight as you head south on 86th Street now. They added a stoplight right there were Arby's, Culvers, and Jesse's Embers are before you get to Meredith Drive.
