Papio will beat Ankeny's "prep", they weren't super impressive at Southwest Showdown. Unless they have improved a lot, they won't make it. Papio will make it, that's my guess.

So I'm really excited for this competition, and I'm not even performing. This is just about as solid as they come. I'm looking forward to an afternoon and finals full of great performances.

Best of luck to Kennedy... Too bad we won't be seeing you at Benton

Sadly, I won't be able to make it to this competition - which, to continue the theme from my earlier post (on pg. 2 of this thread I believe) - stinks.

Though, the reason is kind of entertaining - so I thought I'd share. Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez has cancelled his performances for the upcoming Barber of Seville at Lyric Opera, due to a throat infection brought on by swallowing a fish bone (seriously - google it up), and has been replaced by Sioux City, Iowa native (and Simpson College alum - yea!) John Osborn. This casting change has in turn switched all the rehearsals around for Barber and Eugene Onegin (the opera I'm in) - so now I have rehearsals when before I was free. Go figure. Life as a singer I guess.

On top of all that, we’re getting still more snow here in the Windy City, and driving 6 hrs at night in even a little bit of inclement weather leaves a lot to be desired. So I’m staying put.

But the next time anyone wants to get out of anything - that 'throat infection brought on by swallowing a fish bone' sounds like a pretty good excuse. Right next to the dog ate my homework of course...

Anyway - I'm bummed, I haven’t been home since July of ’07, and Ana STILL has my DVD that I forgot to pick up at Onalaska that I was going to pick up here. But best wishes to all the competitors and especially all the best to Johnston! I'll be eagerly awaiting results as I sing loud Russian opera.

It will be in the gym for the last time. Next year our new 1100 seat auditorium should be completed!

The same company is doing our new choir area and updating our auditorium. It should be awesome

Unfortunately, its just gonna be John, Jeff, and myself. Michael has to stay home and get stuff done.

That is not a good excuse... j/k! But I guess that we can forgive him. We can't wait to see you guys!!!!!!!! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I don't know if this has been said but is the competition in the gym? I've only been to this comp once and that was back in like 2002 when it got rescheduled due to snow so it was in the auditorium.

Hey are you guys definitely coming?? We can't wait to hang with you guys too. We just found out that we have to leave our school at 5 am to get to Urbandale for our JV group to perform. This is gonna be a blast. I can't wait to see you guys Jordan. Are all four of you (Michael, John, Jeff, and yourself) gonna be there? We need to have a rave again!!!!

Can't wait to see everyone perform in less than a week!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I'm pretty pumped to see all my Totino people again and to cheer on Papio (Nebraska represent!). Jeff, we need to find some more people to go with us.
