Judges for this competition were
Ron Hellums
Rebecca Note
Misha Thomas
Sean Porter
Denise Sherman

I might be forgetting someone.
It's absurd to suggest that someone was penalized for not using props. I know it's CG we're talking about here, but there must be some sort of misunderstanding -- - - - Can I get an AMEN???

As the Assistant Choreographer for LC I can explain what the loss of points was. The CG contest has an open score sheet that contains a category for use of equipment and props with the maximum amount of points available being 10. The Central Sound doesn't utilize props in this season's show. We weren't penalized but whether given mid-range scores of 5 by each judge during Prelims. This resulted in the "20 point loss" that we felt was unfair but we felt more strongly about the way we were adjudicated on what's important; Vocals and Choreography. What can you do, though?

Very, very, VERY interesting outcome! Of all the people to take the gold, I was definitely not expecting Mt. Zion, but I guess any given night anything can happen!

Great job to all the choirs!

Everyone was shocked to understand how MtZion went from last going into to finals to placing first by ONE point. WV and HN BOTH outperformed MTZion vocally, visually, and musically.

Well Jayson Edgar Poe, we were both wrong.

I'll add a " border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> to my "Oh my."

Congrats to all the choirs -

For the Women's Competition the results were:

GC - LC Sweet Sensation
1RU - WV
2RU - Norwell

Not sure how the judging was handled or what the point totals were, but it seems that LC Central Sound was penalized 20 points for NOT using Props - which seems strange that you would force a show choir to use props. However it is Center Grove and they love them some props.

actually norwell's women's group got 1st runner-up....and wv got 2nd runner-up...

I am really, really, surprised by the outcome of this competition...... first of all, I hear your thing about props, how do you judge a group on props if they don't have any (Manteno got 5's across the board in props.....but they didn't use any???)

I agree with WV getting best choreo.....but MTZ with Vocals? I really liked their show, but of all the finalists I thought they had the weakest vocals?

Who knows, weird stuff with judging all day I guess?

The best band award went to WV in the afternoon. It was regiven to Huntington North at night due to elegability requirements not met by WV.
