Sorry, I AM going to SCA! I love all the shows that I saw. WV, all I could say was WOW! I love there opener. Wheaton-Warrenville, also amazing, and I love how they did the ballad, their soloist was awesome. EEE is always my favorite at MT. Zion. Sullivan, once again I loved your show, and even if you do the same ballad every 4 years, I love how you guys sing it! But, on a serious note, what up with the guy in Sullivan Singer always sticking out his tongue??? just wondering. I saw Crete- Monee and I have to say they look and sound much better then last year! Tom has some big shoes to fill at Onalaska, but he is doing a great job there! It must have been really hard to be one of those judges at this competition! I would love to see Wheaton-Warrenville and WV go to Sullivan with Clinton there, that would have been the best competition this year!!!! More to come.........

I saw you in the crowd, but didn't get a chance to come over and say "Hey!" What did you think of all the shows? And are you going back to SCA Millikin this year?

Come on, Steve... reply! You're posting everywhere else!

They also performed a "Polka Novelty" (I.E. Milton 2000, Burbank 2004)… new songs in it though.

Just to clear things up: Milton did the Polka Novelty in 2001.

I've never seen a group that clean (specifically the opener) in January! There are very few groups who get there by March. That was incredible. Keep it up WV.

I posted the videos on youtube,
but now im not sure whether or not I should have. Like you said that was the video from the day round of our first competition and who knows how the finals video will turn out (OMG I can't wait to get my copy of the finals! Every group was SOOO amazing!).

Maybe I should have waited until later in the season to post...?
Oh well.

I can't even begin to tell you all how much we appreciate all of the support!!!
It really means soo much to be able to hear the opinions of other show choir members.

DON'T take them down! Everyone is so excited to see you guys... you can take them down and switch them when you get finals. Even if the performance wasn't the best one, it's still amazing (the best show choir performance I have seen this season). Keep up the great work!

I think Waubonsie Valley should be the featured show choir at Show Choir Camps of America (Millikin) this summer. I must see the show live again!

The cool thing is... Waubonsie's show that was posted on YouTube is from day round. The night round was even more off the hook.

Waubonsie Valley's Opener

The opener is my favorite song of the year, so far. It's so great! (Their night performance or it was 10 times better!)

P.S. Listen for the loud "YEEEAAH!" at the end... that was me!

Oh. My. God. That opener is just totally off the hook! I'd be untruthful if I didn't admit that I kind of prefer a bit more classical tone a la Wheaton (I'm an opera singer - so sue me) - but holy crap! Is there ANYONE on the circuit right now that sings like Waubonsie?!? Unreal. And in a very, very good way. Can we get THEM to go to FAME Chicago with Clinton, Burroughs and N. Central?

Ohhh TRUST me!
We've been trying to get ourselves there!!
Most of us REALLY want to go!!

And it's sooooo close from where we are!!
But we have a lot of things planned this year, including an Italy Trip for all our Concert Choir kids, and we have a South Africa trip with another group...

It's a little bit crazy this year.

I think the really exciting thing about Waubonsie Valley (and Wheaton Warrenville) is that they are proving to everyone, without a doubt, that a group can do hard-hitting Dwight Jordan choreography and still SING.

For years, people made excuses for Dwight groups, arguing that they sing well considering the level and intensity of movement they had. Waubonsie is hitting just as hard visually as anything I've seen out of Mt. Zion or Onalaska in the last five years or so, but no one has to justify their vocals- incredible.
