Spectrum’s show with the added benefits of adjusting the lights in the entire auditorium added a cool visual effect. I am and always be couple 2’s number one fan. 5th time voting for them this season from afar.

Enjoyed VA. I feel for the girl that tripped while walking on stage but she handled it like a boss.

Really impressed by valley. Saw them on a live stream a few weeks ago and they were solid. Felt they were much further along now. Ballad vocals absolutely rocked me. So impressive. Choreo is so strong in the second half. I’m a fan.

All this from live feed watching on my couch. And the streams sound isn’t great.

I was at this comp, and I agree with your assessment of Valley. But I also want to give a shout out to their show-band, which was phenomenal.

I was also impressed by DCG Momentum. For only having 30-40 singer/dancers, they sounded great and had a lot of energy.

Finally, if you haven't gotten a chance to watch Southeast Polk Ramification's show this year, it is vastly underrated.

Johnston is my favorite show of the year. And are faux state champs of Iowa imo. They are just so crisp both vocally and visually. Choreography is insanely clean. Their blocking is perfection and there are several moments you can just see they hit the “picture” perfectly and it’s beautiful. And their costumes (yes, all 5000 costume changes) - something about the contrast between the boys and girls colors just create some awesome visual interaction with the stage lights. It adds another depth that is just super pleasing to the audience. Even their “stunts”/lifts are clean which is not often the case with snow choirs during high-level dance numbers. Ummmm also the closer dance break is an all-timer - gets me hyped all over again just thinking about it. And the band needs to be shout out because they absolutely kill it - but they choose their moments and it’s wonderful. I just love Inno’s show so much.

I haven't really been able to catch them in full (keeping results updated on here takes away from live stream time! ), but the clips I've seen are pretty incredible. They're also simply ginormous looking this year. I don't know how many they have on stage, but it has to be at least 60. That's just madness.

This will definitely be a competition to see this year! Here's who I know is attending so far:
Ankeny (all 3 groups)
Ankeny Centennial (all groups)
Dallas Center-Grimes (both groups)
Johnston (Inno and Synergy)
Norwalk (both groups)
Who else will be there?
