Not sure what happened with the placements since the day of the competition, but Milton Choralation was 5th Place and Reedsburg Choraliers was 6th Place, and there wasn't a tie.

It’s not showing up as a tie on the back end, which is weird. I’ll get in touch with other staff and get it figured out!

(edit: A solution has been found! Placements should look normal now.)

Great job to all the kids who put so much time and effort into these show choir events! Sauk was outstanding. The overall judge placements were off and mask requirements were not enforced across the board. So was disappointed in the outcome.

If you're insinuating that there was a scoring error, I would hope that somebody who has correct placements would fill us in on that. If you are insinuating that the judging panel doesn't know what they're doing and that's why placements are off, I would recommend looking at the amount of experience on the judging panel and re-evaluate that thought. Hopefully the judging panel at Southwest will be more to your liking.

I am not questioning the experience of the judges. In my opinion, Mayville should have been rated higher and was disappointed. I also, heard individuals would be docked points if their masks were not up. We saw several groups that this was not the case. Perhaps that was not true?

Perhaps it was true, perhaps it was not true - I would check with your director. I apologize for misinterpreting your sentiments about placings, it seemed to me like you were saying that there was an official mistake (which has happened in the past at this competition).

Our director was the one who said they had to wear masks. Another parent on the team mentioned they would deduct 5 point for every mask that was not up. Can you elaborate on what mistake was made in the past in regards to scoring?

Read the 2018 event comments if you want the full deal, but they made tabulation errors during finals that switched the 1RU and 2RU groups.
