America the Beautiful isn't usually a show choir song.

Thanks for clarifying.

Hmmmm: What's interesting to you about the ballad choice?

If the "show" that I saw Nitro perform is the future of show choir, I'm glad that this is my last year involved in show choir.

Could someone post details on shows and their opinions from the competition? I must say I am very suprised and was just wondering if other people thought this is how it should have ended up in finals? Congrats to all the groups and great job Nitro.

I was at the competition watching, and I definitely think that Nitro has stepped up their game this year. They sound strong with a similar vocal sound to piqua's. The grand champion win, in my opinion, was well deserved. Their show is also unique and fairly entertaining.
As for Piqua, they also sound good. In my opinion, they were a little over-dictioned. Choreo was sharp and presise.

As for nitro winning, One thing i do know is that they should of been in first or second. Piqua was crisp as well. I think Nitro's choreo and vocals were excellent and all I will say is good luck to the groups competing against them. Don't misjudge them . . . they'll surely shake things up at findlay fest, poca and piqua comps!

Showcats, you looked great on the catwalk last night. You really stepped it up in finals and pulled off a great show. Your ballad was amazing. Congrats to all the other schools that competed yesterday. Everyone did a wonderful job. I would not have wanted the judges job last night.

Well, I am an alumni of Nitro, my last year was 2008 and I will give my opinions, I'll try to be as unbias as I can

I honestly think it could have gone either way with Nitro or Piqua, both sounded great, and def. stepped it up in Finals.

FINALS
1) Dekalb sounded great in finals, their show is very energetic, and they have an impressive tap number and ballad.
2) Nitro had many costume malfunctions, and band problems in the prelims show, but pulled off an amazing show in finals. Congrats guys!
3) Piqua had a very classy, but fun show. They sounded amazing, the ballad is one of my favorites of all ballads I've ever seen.
4) Cabell Midland has improved greatly since the past years. Choreo is very very clean. Congrats guys! way to represent WV!
5) I actually didn't see Kettering, but I heard positive things about it.

I hope that helps?
