Do you work for Show Choir Nationals? You must because this is an obvious attempt to undercut the FAME brand...and for what reason?

I guess I could understand more clearly your apparent resentment to this post if everything she said weren't true.

If you want to go to the ultimate show choir competition in the country, you need to go to Show Choir Nationals at Nashville. It is absolutely the best show choir competition that I've ever been to--the very best stage (The Grand Ole Opry stage has unparalleled sound reinforcement!), hotel, and atmosphere. Daryl Ussery, Blair and Derick Ussery (his children), run the competition.

All of their decisions and plans are made with the students in mind. Their main goal is to make it a wonderful, memorable weekend for the students, therefore, the atmosphere in the Grand Ole Opry is one of support for each group. The Usserys and their staff go above and beyond the call of duty to give Directors and parents the best experience possible, too. They are ALWAYS on time--the schedule is perfect.....it starts on Thursday with girls' groups; mixed groups compete on Friday; then the finals are on Saturday and are over by about 3:00 in the afternoon.

The students have a blast at the Wild Horse Saloon after the finals. As you know, Show Choir Nationals was voted the "most fun" competition on this very message board.

I highly recommend that ALL show choirs who think that FAME is the ultimate, check Show Choir Nationals out. You will have a blast and the price is far better than any FAME compeititon. You won't have to worry about whether or not there will be food for everyone like at FAME Chicago this year!

Given that most competitions are one day events, it would be a couple hours; overnight is a luxury. There should at least be time for performers to collect themselves, eat something and refocus, as well as directors time to listen to tapes, go through score sheets etc. As most comps are moneymakers - with as many groups crammed into the day as possible - I realize this probably isn't going to happen.

The Performers should eat before awards or a little bit after so they shouldn`t have to worry about that.
Our Directors have time to go through score sheets and they share the results with the group right after awards so we know how we did and how close it was.

I know some of this is kinda random and seems like im trying to start an arugment...im not its 3 in the morning i have school tomorrow and i can`t sleep so im just trying to post hoping there will be that one random person one who will talk back with me " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />

Even if luxury allowed, I agree with Trey... it's the adrenaline and momentum that makes finals exciting to me. While I think sometimes there isn't enough time after prelims, I definitely think the finals should occur on the same day. That push is what makes the performances so magical!

Totally agree there should ample time between prelims and finals.

When you saw AMPLE do you mean like the same day with a couple hours in between or like the next day

Because if i got to perform again it would ALL be adrelin(SP?)

Saturday morning/early afternoon is a lousy time to hold finals; plus I'm guessing a lot more choirs would be interested if Attache was competing, not hosting.

Well, not everyone makes it a goal to find Clinton wherever they're competing lol. And they were wonderful hosts when we went... though I'm sure there are a few groups who would attend SCN if they were competing against Attache.

While going in the morning is something no one really ever enjoys, I personally appreciated having the evening before to really prepare ourselves and our students for finals last year at SCN, rather than having maybe an hour or two between prelims and finals. When you've spent that much money, and traveled that far, it's kind of an added luxury to feel like you can really work out kinks before finals- not to mention everyone getting to rest their voices, bodies, and minds before performing again. I also felt that way at the Cup in 2005, and at Showstoppers in 2003.

When we went to Branson this year, I had sooo much fun. I think that was in part to all the choirs being at the same hotel. I think that is a good thing that many national competitions are doing. I think that is something that brings different choirs from different regions closer. Just putting my two cents in. ;)

I'm curious. What is this "Stage Corps USA" and what do Dave Fehr and Dwight Jordan have to do with it?
