While I agree with you that whoever did this was COMPLETELY out of line, unless you are 1000% POSITIVE they were GCS kids, please do not call any group out like that. I am truly sorry they did that, however, and I can't wait to see your show at NL! Great job to everyone here!

I'm not sure if you read that very well, but I said Reportedly it was GCS kids. I'm not saying it was for sure, that's just what I was told. I didn't put that up to freak out or vent or rant or anything, I'm just looking to find out who actually did it.

I can't see any of our group doing something like that. Now I can't say what might have happened while I wasn't around but I know for a fact that Mr. Esser wouldn't stand for that and frankly I don't think any of us would. Parents and singers/band and crew. We're a well rounded group of kids that gets roudy at times (like any high school group) but I can never imagine someone doing that from here.

I have to agree. I hosted GCS twice when they came to our competition, and they were the nicest sweetest kids. They were all incredibly respectful, and most of all, under the careful watch of their director. Mr. Esser would never promote something like that, nor allow his students to act like that. I'm not saying they did or didn't do it, but GCS is not the first choir I would jump to if I heard that happened. They are always incredibly well-behaved, and the only thing I ever saw them destroy was the pinata we had in their room :-P

Also, I've seen people from schools start fires, pull fire alarms, destroy school property, and still not have to give their awards back. That would be a little too harsh of punishment IMO. If it were proven, I could understand not asking them to come back, but we must remember that here in America we are innocent until proven guilty, and so far on here everything that has been said would be counted as heresay in a court. I heard from my sister who was really upset when she heard from..... yah. Anyway. You get the point.

I know I'm a little late on this but here we go:
Firstly, I wanted to congratulate GCS! I got about a hundred text messages at the end of the night and after talking to my little bro (who was super excited), I even got jittery. Sorry I couldn't be there to cheer you all on, but I will see you all at South Polk when you're in my area.

Secondly, Mayville is doing Wizard of Oz?! Awesome! I'm really hoping I'll get to see it. Their shows are always very well put together and never cease to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Thirdly, that is terrible that something like that would happen at your school. However, I do feel that it is unfair to call a group out when you aren't 100% sure. Knowing the kids in the choir and band as well as I do, I honestly don't think that GCS would do that (I'm not saying that I may not be wrong), but I just wanted to throw that out there. Central does locker signs at school too, and I can remember a few incidents where other school members have pulled down signs and it was not a very fun time. I hope you can find out who did it. Best of luck.

Congrats to everyone! I only have one not-so-positive thing that I need to say....

In our school, we're allowed to decorate our lockers with signs for clubs, classes, groups, and just for funsies. These are expressions of our school spirit, pride, and interests where we really can't express ourselves in many other ways. I was EXTREMELY shocked and offended to hear that a group of students (reportedly from GCS) ran through our back hallway, ripped down a lot of locker signs, and stuffed garbage into the vents in the locker doors. I've never seen my little sister so angry in my life as when she told me about this. We reported it to our director and are hoping she does something about it, but honestly, if it were up to me, the group that were represented by those students would have to return any awards they recieved, and would not be invited back next year. This kind of unsportsmanship has no place in the show choir community, and really should never happen again.

Oh my gosh, are you kidding me?! That's ridiculous! I don't understand why people thumbs-downed your post. I think you're completely right - they should definitely not be allowed back. Or the kids that were doing it should be forced to come to you guys and give you all a big apology. One of my favorite things about going to Sauk is seeing all the locker signs - I don't understand why people would want to rip them down. D:

On a happier note - Great job to everyone! Best of luck to you all for the rest of your season! :D

I am so surprised New London even got into finals! last year we never placed... and this year has just been amazing to us Visioneers. I hope you guys don't judge us for always getting 6th, as people have done this year already. Good luck to everybody for February competitions! Hopefully I will see a lot of you on Saturday.

Yup, Milton was in 3rd. The results above are correct. Good job to all the groups that competed, especially to those in finals since those are the ones I saw! I cant wait to see Sauk's show again... and I've already seen it 3 times...

I heard that Milton may have actually placed 3rd, with Mayville being 4th... can anyone confirm this? It may have just been a typo, so don't quote me..

The text I received also had Milton in 3rd.
