How did Wheaton North get bc and bb and place 2nd? They had some spectacular vocals.

I understand where you’re coming from but strictly speaking I wouldn’t say that’s a very polite way to put it. I was very surprised Wheaton North did not take the GC with BB and BC, and their ballad was BV worthy as well. For certain aspects show choir is subjective, these results could be completely different if the judges were looking for different factors of a show. I enjoyed south’s show and I admire the energy they have on stage, but just because they won it does not necessarily mean that the other groups were “not as good”. Chesterton, North, WV, and all the other groups had some great aspects to their show that the classics lacked and Vice versa. Let’s try our best to support every group rather than putting them down, especially at a competition as close as this Needless to say this was a very fun competition! There was a lot of raw talent on stage, I think it’s only fair that we celebrate that.

dear show choir fan4000,
you’re right that every group lacked certain aspects to their show. for example, wheaton north lacked the “we are going to get first place at this tournament” aspect.

all of these were talented groups, but no one should be shocked at the placements at this tournament. i came with 4 others and we each independently predicted these results after finals. that doesn’t mean that the other stellar performances are not worth celebrating.

Finals results posted. It's been a battle, y'all. If anybody has small mixed and womens results, please let us know - Chesterton won and Westosha was fourth, but that's all we have right now.

After some research, it looks like Chesterton came in third and Manteno came in fifth. Still not sure about Waubonsie or BEAT, though.

waubonsie came in fourth as per their instagram, which means BEAT came 6th.

Finalists in performance order (randomly assigned)
WN
WV
WWS
BEATS
MANTENO
CHESTERTON.

Surprising, since BEATS did not have a band. I figured Fort would make it.

Would assume the womens groups weren’t eligible for finals? I thought that with the way Esprit had been this year, they would place

I believe treble groups are ineligible here. Otherwise, Carmel Accents probably would have made finals here too when they were here in 2020

Ah, that's fair. I should probably look at those kinds of things before making my predictions lol
