Congratulations to all the choirs who performed Saturday, especially to Twinsburg on their GC. Portsmouth hosted a wonderful contest and it was a great way to start the season!

As the director of Twinsburg, I would like to congratulate Colerain on their well deserved Best Combo Award. According to the rules of the competition, we were aware of our ineligibility for best combo and returned the award to the Portsmouth competition director, who then presented Colerain the award.

From all of us at Twinsburg, we would love to thank Portsmouth for hosting a very positive competition and congratulate all groups on their accomplishments of the day. And to the students and parents from Colerain that sat with us in the afternoon, we had fun cheering on the Show Cards with you and hope to see you in the future.

I heard Twinsburg kids were walking around the competition with sunglasses and not talking to anyone ?

I sat near a a group of people from Twinsburg and they were all very kind and respectful. The sunglasses are a part of their show and the group wearing them makes sense once you see the show.

Just to clear the air about combo. It was determined that Twinsburg did indeed have more "adults" in their combo than allowed by the rules of this competition. Ms. Gower, the director of the host school brought the best combo trophy to the Show Card prep room and made the announcement just prior to departure.

Can anyone explain to me why adults are allowed to play in the band? This is a highschool competition isn't it? The band score contributes to the overall score for the choir!

Hurricane's new choreographer is Casey Edwards for those wondering.

Crap, Patrick, you beat me too it. For some reason I thought I put it in my original post lol, but yes, Casey Edwards is the new choreographer for Hurricane.

Wow!!! I was at the competition and I did not hear that Twinsburg was "ineligible for best combo". Too bad it wasn't announced at awards so that Colerain could get recognized. BTW, I love competing against Colerain. Your show is always one of my favorites and now for the third time since my daughter has been a member of Rhythm in Red, Colerain has beat us by ONE spot. Hopefully we'll get ya next time, lol. I'm sure Jason is proud!
