Yeah they're only some competitions where they have novice competitions. Honestly, there's not really a major distinction, it really relies on the director what division the group competes in and whether they think a group is novice, intermediate, or even advanced level. That's why sometimes you see intermediate groups jump up and compete with advanced groups, while some advanced groups jump down to intermediate division.
