Carroll has a very unique show and I really liked it. A bit depressing during the first 2 or 3 songs, but better at the end. Their vocals were amazing. It was a very tight competition.

So curious how this was a runaway since Carroll got best vocals. That is unusual for a choir to get best vocals and lose. Usually means the score is tight...not a runaway. Nothing against CG. They are always amazing. It just sounds like Carroll deserves some serious props. Can't wait to see them. I heard they have a unique show.

Great competition. However, does anyone else think Surround Sound is just too over the top? I found all the dress changes and props to distracting. I thought Carroll did an excellent job. Loved the edgey look. Dwenger rocked it. This was Dwenger's first time out and almost half of Elegance are freshman. Great job!

I don't...I love Sound System. They really bring out the props and changes, but that really shows their talent and finesse - I can guarantee you that even with all their "extras" they were one of the, if not the most clean show of the day. it's another variable to control, and if they can do it, that only helps their scores.

Plus it's fun to watch.

I also love MM...such a great show this year. I wasn't sure if they could top last year's show, and by God they did.

I think you mean Sound System....Surround Sound is their prep group and had no costume changes

You can see a lot of great photos from Churubusco at www.greatlakescinemagroup.com. You can also purchase a DVD - which includes all day performances, night performances, and host choir performances.

Congrats to all of the choirs who competed tonight...what an awesome job...not quite the runaway comp everybody thought it would be! Way to go Carroll Minstrel Magic on best vocals and congrats to Center Grove SOUND SYSTEM (not Surround Sound as it's listed at the top of the topic) on best choreo!

CG in a runaway. Really nice show and sound. Props all over the place. How many show choirs take a 53' semi to their comps full of show props? The Debutones also were very good. The "Rocky Top" ending really looked like it was as fun to do as it was to watch and listen to. BD good job, but lighten up a bit. Faces were too serious throuought the show. Good luck to all of you this season.

Somehow I hit post before I was ready and it won't let me edit to get all of the columns in order so I hope that post wasn't too confusing!
