I’ve heard around that the top 3 groups all had near perfect scores. Some of the best vocals I’ve heard in a while. I’m sure it was a narrow finish for top 3...

Here’s what I’ve been told about point totals
Overall:

FC - 548
Zionsville - 544
Marysville - 538

Vocals:

FC - 164.5
Zionsville - 164
Marysville - 163.5

Choreography:

I’m not aware of specifics but the top 3 were all within 2 points of each other for choreo.

WOW, all around great comp!! It was so much fun to compete against such talent

I'm a little confused about the scoring.
Here are FC's scores Vocal/total
164.5/548= 30%
Do you know why this score makes up such a low percentage?

I'm not sure! I Don't know how the vocal/total scores are aggregated in relation to eachother. All I know is: these were the total scores reported out of 550 points, and the vocal scores reported out of 165

Do you know if this is an ISSMA competition because I had been under the impression it was but that is completely different from how those would be scored. I'm also confused that if FC got a 164.5/165 (An almost perfect score), I guess theres no question I've just never seen 3 scores that were pretty much perfect.
I also have an idea about how the competition might have been scored, but I'm not sure. I think there were two vocal scores, each 165, that adds up to 330. 330 is 60% of total score which would also make this seem like an ISSMA competition. That also makes the visual score for each of the two judges 110, adding up to 220. 220 is 40% of 550, which is the percentage that visuals take up at ISSMA competitions.

I would also like to say that if I'm correct, I'm an Indy Show Choir genius.

First off, this was not an issma competition but I wouldn't be suprised if pike employed similar scoring! I was under the impression that the vocal score was an average of the two vocal judge's input, while the total was simply an addition of the 4 judges' scores (which as you stated when averaged is out of 165 and when totaled is 550!)
That would make visual scores:
FC: 109.5
Zionsville: 108
Marysville: 105.5
As to comment on the high scores: the level of competition at this event was insane! Definitely the craziest competition I've ever been involved in.
1. I know Paul Gulsvig was a vocal and Ron Morgan was a visual. I'm not sure about the other vocal judge and visual judge
2. The real score totals as far as I'm aware were the ones I posted out of 550, the top 3 were insanely high and close after final scores
I'm fairly certain all this information is accurate, and the final placements were determined based off of judge's rank aggregate and not point totals. This explains the discrepancy between point totals and the final awarded placements. Hope this helped!

Yes! This comp was amazing and I was so glad to compete in it! Finals were scored by placements actually, those ended up being totaled at
FC-7
Marysville-8
Zionsville-10
Top 3 very close.
I’m not sure about the other two but I know Marysville's judge placements were 1st, 1st, 2nd, and 4th.

as for single gender, the choralaires were in in first and new dimension was in second in prelims as far as i was told. the final placement was a tie between high voltage and new dimension. the top three placements were VERY close and determined by the vocal scores (i think).
