I just think we got some "bad luck". Such as, we had a 25 delay between warmups and performing. (Roumor has it: The group before spilt water in the changing tent stage right.) So we all went on cold, unfocused and irritated.

ugh. That totally happened to my group at Big Dance in 2006. The group before us came out of their warm-up 5 minutes late, and we were kicked out right on time so we had a very shortened warmup. Then we ended up standing backstage for 30 minutes as the group took FOREVER to set up their risers, backdrops, props. We ended up standing there listening to the entire show. And this was at 10:30 AM. Needless to say, we had our worst performance of the whole year.

If that is gonna happen somewhere, they should have a waiting area where a group can still vocally and physically warm up, instead of just standing there and be silent for fear of being heard in the performance area.

Sarcasm? ;)

No, but so much offense has been taken at my posts lately that I'm not taking chances.

I did find it odd, that they turned on the stage light, with no MC! I wonder what happend there. Did you get scored by Stephen Todd? After i saw your show i went stright out to get some yummy cookies, and i saw Stephen Todd run back into the
gym. (thinking to myself) umm how did he see the show if he wasn't in the gym. J/w. also Onalaska had some of the most tall and beautiful ladies. My gosh your ladies and those dresses........ as-tastic,AMAZING!!!! LOL GOOD luck to your group, i really did enjoy your show! Love love love your opener.

First Off: Let me start out by congratulating all the groups that performed yesterday. Every single group earned their spot in finals, without a doubt. It was truly awesome to watch the night performance.

Second: The Midwest Invitational was a pleasure to perform at. Our hosts were EXCEPTIONAL and everything about the competition just made me smile. All of the parent volunteers were phenomenal! My favorite part.. the food, oh my gosh. So good.

Third: Obviously, I was disappointed that The Hilltoppers didn't make finals.. Whatever! It happens! Although, personally, I didn't feel like things went right during the day right before our performance. I'm not complaining, however: I just think we got some "bad luck". Such as, we had a 25 delay between warmups and performing. (Roumor has it: The group before spilt water in the changing tent stage right.) So we all went on cold, unfocused and irritated. Also, we had no MC to introduce us.. and the first 25 seconds of our opener was dark (the lights weren't on). They pulled up the lights right before the chorus came in to back up our great soloist. On the other hand, we were also all tired from the night before.

Again, let me reiterate: "I am not complaining." Onalaska did have a good show (logistically that is). We all just left something on stage.. something that could of brought us into finals. That preliminary show was nothing of what we were capable of.

In conclusion, the whole weekend was great. Great place to spend a day watching some of the best show choirs in the nation.

Congrats to Wheaton Warrenville and all the groups!! -Good luck this season Guys!

My apologies I just went off your post.

I'm sorry, but I'm not following you. I never posted anything about "paybacks for not making finals at another competition" that post belonged to JWill I was simply saying I was a bit surprised at the groups that did not make finals...never offered any opinion regarding paybacks...just questioned time issue possibilities. Swingdad did a great job of clarifying. Sounds like it was an amazing competition! Congrats to all groups

Just want to clarify....that statement was NOT made by me, but another poster. I, too, think that is ridiculous to assume.

Good grief!! I even included an emoticon to indicate the sarcasm.
