I'm glad CO show choir is getting at least some documentation and record of its activities. There are some very strong music & arts programs in the Denver area, but none that bring show choir anywhere close to its full potential. I think that organized show choir is most active in south/central Colorado. I'm glad they also had this competition out on the "Western Slope", as they call it.
On an unrelated note, some of these high schools are unbelievable in terms of the scenery that is surrounding them. Ditto for the Colorado Springs schools- especially Coronado and Cheyenne Mountain schools. The scenery is amazing!!
This event page is updated. Aside from the state festival, this is the only other Colorado show choir event on our radar. This year, we received information on both of these Colorado show choir events so that's really exciting! Via the event website linked above, the website goes through the history of this event which was really cool (it's been going on in some capacity for 94 years!). It's a general music festival with all sorts of ensembles and of course we only have the show choir portion posted.
A few of the show choirs did perform on 4/26 (Pomona, Gunnison, and Columbine), but aside from performance ratings they're all compared across days for top show choir per division - so I just have them all listed on 4/27 for cohesion. It also doesn't show above due to Columbine being the only middle school show choir in attendance, but they received an Excellent Rating.
