Well, things went unexpectedly to say the least... Hopefully Silver Connection will finish strong. That's all I'll say without ranting.

Day round went as:
as another poster said earlier was that broadhead was left off the sheet, so I am curious what happend and where they placed.

I am going to post thoughts in a little bit, but i am so incredibly impressed with everyone last night!

Nice meeting you, Chris! Also, it appears that De Pere was left off the prelims sheet too...

yes, i was also wondering why Brodhead was left out of the results all together--also Preble did finish 7th ahead of Prospect.

AHH I just typed up all of my comments on the performances and scc logged me out... so I have to do a recap. I typed a lot before but now I'm just going to do the basics haha... soo much typing.

Linn-Mar-
I loved Lacrymosa, it was amazing! I didn't know how it was going to work when I heard you were doing it but I was very impressed! And I was also very impressed by vocals throughout the entire show. GOOD JOB! and congratulations on your win. You deserved it.

Cedar Rapids-
Your ballad was beautiful!!! I got chills. And I loved the costumes in Tightrope. Good job!

Craig-
I love you guys. Your theme is so much fun! Good energy... you guys definitely stepped it up since Milton. GOOD JOB! I cant wait to see you guys again!

Hersey-
I love the river theme! And how the costumes and the colors and the choreography tied into the theme. Although I was a little surprised at the intensity of the *ahem* sexuality of the choreo and presentation... But I loved the show and very good energy! Good job!

Mundelein-
The energy difference between the prelims performance and finals was like an 80% increase. I loved that you were all so together and in sync... Nice improvement! Really, really good job to you guys. I love the closer! Its so much fun. GOOD JOB!

Davenport-
9 to 5 was so cute! I loved that it was your closer. I was also very pleased with your vocals in Hit the Road Jack... They were intense! Good job!

I might add more later, but overall good job to everyone! This was such a good competition... so much talent! I loved all the shows and all the energy! Good job to all.

daytime placements were:

1. Linn-Mar (with a hyphen)
2. Cedar Rapids Washington
3. Janesville Craig
4. Mundelein
5. John Hersey
6. Davenport North

I believe Sauk Prairie placed 9th. I thought I heard Prospect was 7th, but I guess that went to Green Bay Preble (one of my favorite shows of the day)

I don't even know where to begin. I absolutely had a BLAST. Each and every show was absolutely unique and it made for an extremely close and entertaining competition. There were literally no shows that were like another. It was the kind of competition I've been trying to find for so long. All the hosts were SOOOOO nice and absolutely fantastic. My voice is almost gone from screaming and cheering for everyone.

My favorite lyric of the day is most definitely from Mundelein's closer. I think it goes something like this: "I don't give a FIG" lol I giggled so hard in day time when she sang that. I just thought it was hilarious (in the BEST way possible!!!!!)

OMG so much to say about each group. I'm going to have to do that tomorrow when I can think a little more clearly. I'm going on 24 hours of awakedness (yes that is TOTALLY a word )

Ouch. Another rough competition for MG.

It's kind of sad because we were all very excited about our performance today, but we ended up getting last place.

Oh well. Another learning experience. Hopefully we can get our act together and finish strong at Broadhead.

Speaking of Broadhead, I was looking at the prelim standings that my director got, and Broadhead wasn't included in the results. Does anyone know why?

Well, it was a rough day for Wisconsin groups, but at least Fort won't ever be accused of in-state bias. Good luck to all of the finalists, especially Craig - it was a pleasure to watch so many great groups, and I don't envy the decisions that the judges had to make! For those who care, Preble did get 7th in the day round.
