this made me LOL, a tweet from a student at one of the schools Burbank competed against:

I wish i lived in california so I can be in Burbanks show choir....Oh yeah and that I was RICH enough to be in burbanks show choir.lol
about 5 hours ago via web

also , did i hear this right, burbank girls were called sluts and whores by other groups?

That makes so much more sense! Although I will admit, during Burbank's show I spent more time trying to figure out their illusions than figuring out the theme. They were all just executed so well. The curtain thing blew my mind and I even got a little suspenseful at certain times during the show. I loved it!

Hahahaha. No problem. Honestly, I feel giving suspense to the audience could be one of the coolest compliments weve ever got :D Well give a better explanation later on but it's not as complex as last year =] And being focused on the illusions isn't a bad thing at all ;) thanks a ton.

Burbank literally blew my mind on a billion different level. Best competition in a long tme. this competition seemed really fair and whoever made it into finals, really deserved it, they all were awesome.
i still am thinking how burbank did some of the effects. the begining levitation and the curtain thing was awesome, and the rain thing was amazing beyond words. like whoever made that us is pure genius! great job today, it was an honor competing with everyone.(:

We had an AMAZING time today. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so enjoyable. We were truly thankful for our amazing Fairfield hosts. To help to add a tiiny bit to peoples understanding of the show, it's set in the dustbowl, something a lot of people told me they didn't pick up on after XD but all the groups did great today. Thank you once again. BHS loved their trip to Ohio =]

Normally, I'm not a fan of California show choir coming into the Midwest. The style is just so immensely different. But, Burbank was absolutely amazing. They did not rely on their beautiful set and special effects. They obviously sang amazingly and they danced hard choreography with such crispness that I was super impressed. The effects only added to the show, but I have a feeling the show could have stood on its own without them. That's what's always important to me coming from a show choir that uses no set and very few props. Congrats Burbank!! You guys were amazing and it was great to see you live!

Brett and InSync deserved every praise they got. I am from Opelika Ovations and our bass player wasn't able to attend this trip. Not having a bass in our combo was a problem for our sound. So in finals, Brett sight read our bass music and played it for us in finals. The amount of sportsmanship and care for the fellow group is outstanding. Congrats to everyone who competed.

Congrats In Sync. So glad we have the opportunity to see our ole Burbank VMA family every year when they make their annual competition trip to the east. What a way to begin your competition season, eh? Break a leg during the remainder of your competition season. And...see y'all next year!

Nothin' but Love,

Your Co-#1 Fans,

great day of show choir!!

Burbank was amazing and very deserving of the GC! Reminded me of Burroughs years '05-'07, more in that style, but taken to a level that was executed to near perfection! Loved it...made me smile the whole time. A friend and I were talking about how we just weren't impressed with show choir in general as of recent and this gave me some real hope!!

Marysville this was the first time I had seen the show since january (the inviational) and it was greatly improved...the thing that impressed me was the way the band really kicked it up...everything was so solid with not an off moment in the show! great comeback from the interesting results of last week would honestly say this is the most well put together and solid show since 2007! thanks for a great performance

Findlay...usually I am a really big fan, but tonight i was distracted. Opener and Ballad sounded beautiful and were well executed. The rest of the show was just not executed the way I am used to seeing Findlay perform. Beautiful tone, but just not the normal Findlay execution I am used to. Thank you for taking a chance and doing something different...Greatly Appreciated!

Medina...best show since 2005. This group is back and ready to start becoming an Ohio show choir power! Everything was great, but nothing went above and beyond...Bring it up one more notch and this group will dominate in the future. Very refreshing to see a group coming into there own and starting to reach their full potential!

Opelika...loved the closer. amazing energy. first time seeing this group and glad to have finally had the joy of watching.

Olentangy...working really hard. soon you will be back to the level that you were before the director change. Seemed to be a lot to work on, but the determination and drive to succeed is there! good luck in the future

Thanks to all the groups for a great finals! have a great rest of the season!

I think we got 28 points off.

Dang that sucks, but great job you must have killed the show then!

Also, Congrats Burbank. You guys are amazing. Even though I haven't seen your show. -____-

Burbank isn't attending Arcadia either, they have spring break that week so I think Mr. Carroll lets them off during that time.

Burbank was amazing in prelims.

And it's unreal how good they were in finals, they REALLY kicked it up.
Best live show choir performance I've ever seen.

Every group that performed in finals did a phenomenal job, ESP Marysville and Findlay.

Wow.... Burroughs last year and Burbank this year!!!! These two choirs have become my favorite show choirs of all time!!! Burbank today I was blown away by your show in Prelims and came back to the competition specifically to see you all and Fairfield. You all did not disappoint bringing a show that was even better than the first ( which I didn't think was possible). Thank you for bringing your talent to the east coast, I wish that they would at least lean in the direction that you all and JB have taken show choir. Well deserved grand championship!!!!!!

oh cool, so los alamitos is doing harry potter, burroughs is star wars, i wonder what movie or magic theme is burbank doing

Burbank is doing a "Rainmaker" theme... They do some AMAZING tricks and illusions throughout the show. My personal favorite is the Whitacre inspired "Rainstorm" effect that they did.... but, REALLY great show this year.
