Does anyone know why Edgewood is competing tier 2? Is it done by school size? Thank you.

This contest uses the silly ISSMA school size classifications. Enrollment of 1560+ is "large school" and 1559 and below is "small school." I suppose they could bump themselves up to Tier I if they request that, and maybe they will. The performance schedule wasn't very clear and I'm not sure it really matters since it seems all groups are eligible for finals and being compared to one another anyways.

There's usually some Edgewood folks around on here, so perhaps they can chime in and clarify as well.

There is no "Tier I or Tier II" listed on the entire schedule. It's simply listed as "mixed". But what you said about large school/small school is correct, and our enrollment is 770 students. ISSMA rules and what not...

Yeah, that's what I was referring to with the performance schedule not being very clear. It lists all groups as Mixed, finalists on the schedule are listed as "Championship" Mixed, and the director's packet lists awards and classifications for Large Mixed and Small Mixed. No consistency with the terminology to say the least. Anyway, since the info indicated all sorts of different things - we'll be happy to post it *correctly* if anyone can confirm what that is.
