This is the contest of the year. Let me break some things down...

Last year, among the groups we know so far, there were a combined 17 grand championships, 13 best vocals, and 18 best choreography trophies awarded. These groups boasted wins against Franklin Central, Glenwood, Carmel, Waukee, Omaha Westside, Broken Arrow, Shepherd Hill, among other powerhouse groups.

There are a couple notable streaks going into this, with Clinton having yet to lose a contest since 2013, and Millard West never leaving a contest without the best choreography trophy since 2016 (Update: Millard West lost choreo to Ankeny Centennial in 2017, but since then has been on a roll).

Keep in mind this event will feature an exhibition performance from Glenwood "Titan Fever", who has been a dominant force since their win at Show Choir Nationals in 2015.

You don't want to miss this.

Oops, that one slipped my mind. Was going strictly off of memory, should’ve checked!

Very true, however, every year is a new year. Good examples are Waubonsie Valley, Linn-Mar, and Bemidji. Don't get me wrong--Linn-mar and Bemidji were stunning in the past, but not nearly as good as last year. And Waubonsie Valley is far from bad. They are always one of my favorite groups. They just didn't showcase their talent as well as they have in previous years. Anyway, my point is that we don't know how good Millard West's choreo will be next year, nor do we know how well it will be against Clinton's. Granted, when doing early predictions it is always best to go off the previous year.

Going off the mentioned streaks don't forget that Friend De Coup also took Best Choreo against Millard West at Omaha Westside in 2017.

Regardless I think that anything can happen year to year. It's definitely going to be an awesome one to watch!

I don't know if this means they'll be in attendance, but the last time Decatur "Elite Energy" missed this competition was in 2013 so I wouldn't be surprised to see them here.

We’re actually not attending this year, although I really wish we were because this lineup is jaw dropping.

I think a couple certain show choir live streamers should try to be at this thing.
