Hi Everyone! We are looking forward to hosting some great show choirs and show choir fans at Premiere in just over a week! Please visit our website,, for more information including driving/parking and building maps. We have significant construction on our campus and in our building. Take special note of parking directions and instructions for entering our building. Once you are here, we have many student and parent volunteers who will help you find your way to the Concert Hall, homerooms, cafeteria, and "Snack Stops." We're looking forward to a great day of show choir on January 26th!

Predictions (BIASED)

GC: 10th Street Edition (BC,BV)
1RU: Happiness Inc. (BB)
2RU: Good Time Company
3RU: Momentum
4RU: Impulse
5RU: Flight
6RU: Celebration

Reasoning: Linn-Mar is very good at what they do and I personally think they will get GC. Happiness is being slept on. I feel like we are going to see them blow up because of how well they did at Supernova. Good Time Company did really well last year and this year so I have them there. Momentum is also really good I just think the other groups are better. The other spots are toss up because I haven't seen them. Celebration is also slept on because they have beaten 8 varsity groups now. If you have disagreements let me know, be civil, that is all.

6RU: Sound/ Celebration

I have 10th Street Edition and Momentum both in first and second because both shows have only received second place thus far, so both groups will be motivated to get that grand champion trophy. Happiness Inc. is also pretty good this year, except they are doing a VERY questionable novelty song about flying kites (with props!). I am not sure about the other three groups, but based on last years placings and this years placings so far, this is what I think. I also have Celebration, CR Washington's prep group, as a possibility for finals because they are extraordinary this year and have made finals at the past two competitions, ranking pretty well, so it would be foolish to believe they won't do amazing a Premiere.

Half of Lights’ members are in Sound. Not allowed in Iowa.

It actually is allowed in Iowa (as of a few years ago). Students can be in two choirs as long as one is mixed and the other single gender.

Received the list of attending choirs, but not the performance schedule yet. As that becomes available, feel free to post. The schedule should clarify divisions as I made an informed guess based off of what Prairie says their division classifications are (4A/Open, Men's Varsity, Women's Varsity, Mixed Prep, Women's Prep, and 9th Grade). I'm not completely certain of the delineation between Women's Varsity/Prep, but I'd wager it's something along the lines of Mundelein and sharing students between choirs - which is common for parts of the Midwest but not so much with Iowa. The mixed prep, women's prep, and 9th grade divisions will be combined for their own vocals/visuals/band award captions in the daytime. All divisions ultimately eligible for finals as Prairie is bringing that back this year. Mt. Mercy is also doing an exhibition and McKinley MS is comments only.

I would also be willing to make that bet about Mundelein single gender.
